If she did that who would take care of Prop?

Jeez, now even Cathy Rodgers doesn’t think she’s tea klux klan enough.

Isn’ she under investigation for something? I thought I read that some weeks ago

Alternative Translation: That leadership position is cursed, forget it.

Not likely but it sure would be funny if no one wanted the job.

Perhaps replace the individual position with an anonymous committee?

There was an ethics investigation concerning taxpayer funds used during an election, but I think it was dropped.

TP will not settle for anything less than a nihilism.

House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA) said Wednesday she won’t run for a different leadership position, claiming “I’m just too dumb to do anything more than babble my talking points, and learning new ones is out of the question.”

Cathy walks a delicate balance. She is an establishment Republican, so establishment that she is unable to think for herself, and only parrots the establishment talking points.

At the same time, her district (where I live) has benefited significantly from the ACA. The city of Spokane is leaning more liberal with each election cycle, locally, as well. (Side note: in about 30 days you’ll be able to buy pot here. So start planning your August vacation for Eastern Washington! We love tourists!).

As we do a top two primary, she is facing three primary opponents. One is an independent (Dave Wilson) who is running on the Ross Perot philosophy of lower deficits and end gridlock (with the popular around here position of fighting climate change). Another is a Republican, who is conservative, but running on a end-the-gridlock, compromise, and get along platform (Tom Horne). The third is a Democrat (Joe Pakootas) whom I know little about other than his work advocating for the Colville Tribe and cleanup of the Columbia.

Note that all three share a common critique: she has wasted her time in office voting against Obamacare and shutting down the government. If she were to run for leadership, win or lose, it would highlight the areas she is in conflict with her district. Her best bet is tho shut up and hope that the Democrat wins the other ballot position. If either Mr. Horne, or (more likely), Mr. Wilson get the #2 spot in the primary, she is toast.

I am honestly thinking of voting for Dave Wilson, just to make life hard on Cathy.

Every time I see McMorris Rogers, I have to wonder if they had her specifically in mind when they wrote and cast for Jackie Sharp in House of Cards.

Or a member chosen in the dead of night by a tiny secret committee sworn to conceal his identify by blood-curdling oaths who thereafter dons a mask and concealing robes when carrying out the duties of his office.

Conservative solutions don’t include women and minorities. So she will stay in her corner of the conference under the glass ceiling. What an image to improve?

Thank you for that insider info. Would be worth it to have her out of congress.

I agree she seems like a total lightweight. She is terrible on the news shows and only spouts talking points.

I wonder how those ethics violations are coming for Mrs Rogers?
