He did not expound on just how an administration would determine what constitutes ā€œradicalizationā€ or ā€œanti-American.ā€ How about a House Committee on Unamerican Activities? That worked so well the last time.

A good sound bite for ISIS propaganda. If they donā€™t have a recruiting poster with Trump, and Carsonā€™s picture on it yet I would be surprised.

If we alienate The American Muslim Population we are screwed. They are only ones authorities can get information about who is being radicalized in their community. It would be a huge victory for ISIS

That would include the Government, Obama, Clinton, and registered Democrats.

This guy should be under close observation. Heā€™s nuts.
For press organizations there is that little free press thing. Even anti-American press organizations like Fox in my opinion are protected and as long as the FCC enforces the rules fairly, Rupertā€™s minions get a pass.

The GOP and its followers are among the most anti-American groups around. They donā€™t care about the country, only getting back into power and pleasing their billionaire backers.

Does he think we donā€™t do this already?

Especially these. Over the past decade, theyā€™ve certainly been the source of more domestic terrorism than al-Qaeda or ISIS. Add the Oathkeepers to the list, and youā€™ve got the whole scene covered.

How would you know they are ā€œterrorist threatsā€ or ā€œAnti Americanā€ unless you were already watching them?

Enough of these assholes. Trump just said near the same thing in Alabama: ā€œI want surveillance of certain mosques if thatā€™s OK,ā€ Trump told the often-raucous and approving crowd. ā€œWeā€™ve had it before.ā€ and then followed that up with an incredible whopper: ā€œI watched the World Trade Center go down,ā€ Trump asserted, adding he watched in New Jersey, ā€œas thousands of people were cheering as the building was coming down.ā€ Which CNN reported uncritically.

These guys are amateurs. Thatā€™s why the amateurish shit. Trump has never done one thing to fight terrorism or protect the American people from it. Neither has Carson. They have ZERO experience in fighting anything much less terrorism. They have ZERO foreign policy experience, ZERO military service and have never been accountable for anything they say.

Neither will ever be President but they are doing plenty of damage in their quixotic efforts to do so. They are proposing a government much like that in Iran, North Korea or the old USSRā€¦and Americanā€™s are cheering them on.

Well, at least Trump and Carson are performing one useful service. For those of us who have long suspected that the G.O.P. base was driven by ignorance, vindictiveness, prejudice, nativism, xenophobia, paranoia, and sheer stupidity, theyā€™re removing any remaining doubt. They really are bringing The Haters out of the closet.

Expect more of it. His campaign is terminal. Heā€™ll pitch a bunch of this loony shit in effort to resuscitate it. He and Trump are vying for the same 35 to 40 % of the GOP that would consider voting for them. Thatā€™s all theyā€™ll ever get. Their share of that 40%. ( 20 % of the American people ). And the loony shit above is how you appeal to that 40%.

Since weā€™re moving into the holiday season, and Iā€™m trying to be as charitable as possible, Iā€™d like to believe that both Trump and Carson are raging alcoholics.

Slippery slope, especially since sanctimonious politicos such as Carson regard any individuals or groups to be ā€œunAmericanā€ if they are critical of public policy based on conservative Christian dogma.

Hey Ben, perhaps the House GOP caucus can form a committee to take on this task ā€“ they can call it ā€œthe House Un-American Activities Committeeā€.

Who will ā€˜monitorā€™ Carson? He canā€™t!

If your are going to speak publicly there are rules you must obey. One is to avoid internal conflict or mutually exuding with your own words the point youā€™'re trying to make. We wouldnā€™t know they are Anti American unless we were already watching them. But Carson isnā€™t trying to make a serious policy proposition. Heā€™s trying to pull a few rubes away from Trump to get his numbers back up.

The entire Republican party are basically all McCarthyites now. McCarthyism has long been considered a form of extreme overreach, unfair allegations and unwarranted investigations, which runs afoul of the First Amendment and probably a few others when taken to the extreme. Yet here we are with this newest iteration by an entire major political party in this country. Do any of these assholes bother to read American history? How about all those mini American Constitutions they have folded in their inner suit pockets? Do they even know how to fucking read?

Disgusting.

ā€œHe said the agency [FBI] currently can only afford to monitor ā€˜30 to 60ā€™ peopleā€¦ā€

I see this all the time in my dear mother-in-law, who is 95 years old and in an assisted living facility near my home. I spend a good deal of time with her, and itā€™s mostly delightful, but she has this thing where she constantly makes up impossible ā€œfactsā€ in her head, completely believes them to be true, and wants to discuss them. Fortunately, itā€™s easy to change the subject to something she does still know about. Maybe someone should return Benā€™s focus to neurosurgery, bless his heart.

Ben, you happen to be pretty damned radical to me.We better ā€œmonitorā€ you.
By the way, Ben, who decides who is radical and who isnā€™t? You? Some faceless aide?
As any GOPer would say, some unelected official?
I think we should take a step back and remember the values so many AMERICANS have died for:
Freedom
tolerance
equality
As a black man I would have thought you would in particular understand that. I had hopes yesterday when you alluded to stuff like what I listed but I guess political expediency got in the way.
