Yeah, thatā€™s what I am seeing, too. He is building the groundwork for an early exit before he gets embarrassed in Iowa.

The reality is everyone should be putting together some early strategies for dealing with the possibility of a brokered convention. It just shows how completely out of his depth he is (again) to think that the Establishment wing was just going to lay down and play dead.

But I think you DO have to admit that for someone whoā€™s only in this thing to grift, being presented such a gold-lined, platinum-embossed chance to indulge in legitimately high dudgeon on the way out (or in an effort to sustain political donations and book sales for a big longer until, as is typical for those candidates who burn contributions at absurdly high rates, heā€™s relegated to the dumpster out behind history) must seem like the Gift of the Magi.

I agree he has no interest in doing the work needed to get on the ballot as a third party candidate. But I can see him going third party as a way to extend the amount of time he can fleece the rubes.
