Discussion: Carson Adviser To NYT: No One's Been Able To 'Make Him Smart' On Foreign Policy

Discussion for article #242948

“I guess he just froze.”

No, he’s just a dipshit who thinks Nuance is the latest fragrance from Prince Matchabelli.

Maybe they should cut back on Dr. Stabby’s Ambien.

And this is a surprise how?

When they talk about “taking advantage of an elderly gentleman” just who are we talking about?

I think they’re referring to Duane Clarridge.

He’s the worst example of "I don’t need to listen - I’m a surgeon - I know everything necessary to know & if information needs emerge - my intuitive powers provide the answer"

None of Dr. Ben Carson’s advisers have been able to impart “one iota of intelligent information” to the Republican presidential candidate, a top national security expert working on his campaign told The New York Times in a story published Tuesday.

Wow. The submarines are really flying now.

“Nobody has been able to sit down with him and have him get one iota of
intelligent information about the Middle East,” Clarridge said in an
interview during which he also used an unprintable ethnic slur for the
Chinese.

Which means that the base will  love him.

I’d suggest sterner measures to try to get him to pay attention but it would just be an abuse of a baseball bat for no purpose…

It’s surprising–well, a little–that his advisers are admitting it openly. Since they know what a disaster he would be as President, it’s almost like they are afraid he’ll get the nomination if they try too hard.

Nicole Wallace Syndrome seems to be kicking in. I guess some folks on his campaign really did get the crap scared out of them by the Paris attack.

And what is going to be even worse, is all the walking back the campaign tries to do now, comes completely undone in the next debate when Carson shows, once again, that he is completely clueless about the world surrounding him. Then its a double whammy…he is ignorant on foreign policy AND his campaign is lying about it.

The campaign’s first response is pretty bad. Basically they are calling Clarridge senile, which brings up the question…then why is he advising Carson? And they insist he is getting daily, not weekly, briefings…which just points to what I said above and they say in the interview. None of it is sinking in.

Oh ho ho, this is too clever—they’re lowering Trump’s expectations, don’t you see? So he doesn’t do his homework about foreign policy or much of anything else and then next debate, WHAMMO Carson will know all the things and Trump will look ree-deek-yoo-luss. Diabolical!

HA HA HA now somebody else tell one.

Duane Clarridge, one of Carson’s top advisers on terrorism and national security, told the Times thatCarson has continually struggled with the nuance of foreign policy despite weekly briefing calls and tutoring so “we can make him smart.”

Have they tried a brain transplant? Anyone know a good neurosurgeon?

Step 1 ought to have been to tell Carson to stop reading far, far right-wing nutjob websites like Infowars and SocialismSucks.

All of the GOP’s core constituency?

Ouch that hurt.

Hello. ANYone who has heard the good doc’s words on foreign policy knows that Clarridge’s words were spot on!

Hmmm. Uninformed and uninformable. I think there’s a word for that, but neurosurgeons are supposed to be smart.

We (most of us here anyway) knew this but for an adviser to admit it is just too tricking funny. Exit stage left Dr. Carson.
