Discussion: Carly Fiorina Camp Defends 5 Of Her Biggest Fibs

What I finding interesting is no one, not even her fellow candidates have pointed out she has never had another CEO job after HP and this is one group who loves to play musical chairs.

five is a standard thing around here

Also, people tend to remember a certain number of things. Top five lies makes sense.

i NEVER SAID WHAT i SAID!

This woman might be the nominee. She ticks off all the boxes. She believes all the right-wing talking points, and can lie convincingly. She never backs down when called on her lies. Sounds like most of the Republicans I’ve met online over the last decade, really ever since the Iraq War began.

Point 2: By this logic, the executive might be taking serious someone from the 3rd grade.

Point 3: By this logic, Fiorina could not have been a secretary because she later became an executive.

Point 4: Yes, he was fired for vandalism. The charge was untrue. You effing weasels!

When I read this statement by Fiorina…

“Somebody once asked me, ‘What’s the difference between business and politics?’” Fiorina said at the event, which was hosted by the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. “And here’s the difference: Politics is a fact-free zone. People just say things.”

…I realized that’s why she seems so anger. She thinks everyone is copying her!

I will say this. Politicians as part of their skill set learn early on how to lie. Lying is essential for a politician. If they are honest about their true feelings they don’t last very long. Pandering would be a softer term for the same skill. An example would be barry Goldwater’s acceptance speech at the repub national convention in '64.

This quote. among others sank his candidacy.

And as @DickWeed posted …politics is a fact free zone
Indeed.

to construe these statements in a way that fits your left-wing narrative

Translation: "Yes, she lied; we all do. But no one cares except you people on the left. I quite frankly don’t understand what this hangup you people have about people telling the truth. We’re running for President here, for Pete’s sake.

Pleezzz, “fibs” are a 4 year old getting caught being naughty.

(take it from a former Lucent Tech employee) She is an outright LIAR!! Let’s stop sugarcoating that fact, shall we?

Dunno if she’s a liar or trying to gloss over the facts.

It was one thing 20 years ago when people had to go back through tons of newsprint to find out what you said; it’s another when not only is it all available instantaneously, but the people you either said it to or were in the audience are still around to vouch or, worse still, the audio/video tape is readily accessible and out there.

This, to me, is more the case of ‘pay no attention to the man behind the curtain’ or ‘who are you gonna believe - me or your lyin’ eyes.

Either way, she has no business running a kennel, let alone the US of A.

A video so horrible it doesn’t even exist.

But not so horrible that conservatives don’t want it to be real, spending an inordinate amount of effort to insist that it’s real. They need to believe it, because the mundane truth of Planned Parenthood just isn’t sexy enough for their witch hunt’s demands.

Who you gonna believe, me or your own eyes?

And she was only a secretary during summers off from Stanford; she sure wasn’t a secretary after B-school.

The willingness of her campaign to intentionally parse her statements in a way that skirts their inaccuracy and responding to specific critiques with ad hominem attacks points to some very serious issues for Fiorina and her campaign. Other candidates have had to walk back misstatements and some white lies and truth stretching, but her unwillingness to admit any fault whatsoever is disturbing.

Carly, I said no cookies before bed.
I’m not eating cookies.
I can see your hand in the cookie jar.
I said I wasn’t eating them.
Then why is your hand in the cookie jar?
Oh, I was getting them for you.
Oh, thank you honey, but I don’t want a cookie.
Ok, I’ll eat them then.

Instead of “fibs” call them what they are, lies.

Any bets that when asked by her Board when she was CEO at HP to explain herself she used the moronic types of splitting hairs and redirection? Any wonder the Board got tired of the bs and it became the underlying reason for her being ousted? Sad, truly pathetically sad.

It’s like she’s trying to be so dishonest that she’ll stand out from the rest of the dishonest clowns on the bus. It’s an impressive attempt, but I’m not sure that’s physically possible without a whole new branch of physics.

Naah. I won’t give her the delusion excuse.

She enjoys lying. Which gets us to psychopath.

She is well trained in lying. In her entire “failing upwards” career she has perfected blatant lying to fine art form, always blaming others for her bad decisions and viciously attacking the messenger when “inconvenient truths” about her are exposed.
While CEO of HP she hired multiple Private Investigators to dig up dirt on her Vice Presidents and HP Board members rather than admit any wrongdoing. HP employees tell of a “reign of terror” where any negative information getting to the media resulted in “pogroms” within the company. She had spyware placed on executives computers to detect any “leaks to the press” and stabbed each and every one of them in the back when called in to explain her actions to the Board.
They finally got fed up and FIRED HER (although her iron-clad employment contract netted her about $40 Million to “get the hell out”.)
There is a REASON she has had no job offers of ANY KIND as CEO of any company since HP.
