This is awesome.
Funny, but not helpful.

Gee, that reminds me–whatever happened to the World Wide Communist Revolution? Oh yeah, that’s right, the Soviets blew it.

It’s a funny post, but I immediately noticed that the Crimean Peninsula is in the “NOT RUSSIA” area, which kind of conflicts with the facts on the ground.
True, but are you suggesting that NATO start WWIII (which we’d easily win) to drive Russia out of the Crimea region?
Good job, Canada.
No. Whatever gave you that idea?
In fact, given what it’s going to cost Russia to prop up the Crimean economy, to pay for various infrastructure projects, for Ukrainian seizure of Russian assets elsewhere (to settle the huge lawsuits Ukraine will be bringing against Russia), and for a raft of international sanctions, the smart move may be to let them hang on to it. Like the old USSR, a poorer Russia is a weaker Russia.
Save for oil and gas, there is no Russian economy. As much as I hate fraking, I’m all for providing a winter alternative to Russian gas for Western Europe.
Who knew Canadians had a sense of humor?
I wonder if the Baltics, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, and Georgia are feeling a bit nervous that NATO didn’t stamp “NOT RUSSIA” on all of those other countries adjacent to Russia and Ukraine.
If Article 5 is invoked, member countries (I believe) have to send troops. Congress has no consent in the matter.
Congress already consented when it ratified the NATO treaty.
Kudo’s to Canada.
That’s 8 kinds of awesome.
