Discussion: Can Ben Carson Recover From His Very Bad Week?

We can only hope the democrats see blood and hammer Carson with constant reminders of his lies. But, the democrats are mostly cowards, and, like Obama the “great negotiator with the enemy”, cannot will not confront the opposition effectively.

I really don’t care who wins the Republican nomination because I really don’t think any of them have a chance of winning the presidential election. But if Carson or Trump did by some miracle win, I think congress and the supreme court would shut them down from doing much of any of the crazy shit they talk about like they have Obama, regardless of which party is in control.

Who is this ‘We’ that you speak of. The Democrats are all over this clown and loving it as he discredits his whole Party.
If there’s a coward in the room it’s you pal and you couldn’t hold a candle to President Obama’s ass.
Ben Carson is sinking his own ship in case you haven’t noticed so skip the Democrats are weak BS and try to help because what possible good is your negativity.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow night’s next installment of clown car cage match.

The “changing details” are fairly petty. Like they were in the Benghazi thing and the Kunduz hospital strike. But folks are addicted to “changing details” and what can be made of them so Carson has a problem.

I’d look elsewhere in his present and his past. How does he stand on lifelong second class citizenship because of a marijuana bust when a kid? Is he a “tough on crime” asshole? If he is then perhaps he should ask himself why he thinks his youthful improprieties and embellished recollections of them should be excused…allowing him to seek the most important position on Earth yet that kid should be told fuck off when he needs a student loan at 27 years of age.

If his position on “your past” does not jive with his position on “his past” fuck him and give it to him. If he’s shown tolerance and forgiven others ( as his Bible tells him to ) then give him the same.

Oh, heavens no. No gotcha questions coming from the moderators. More like “On a scale of 1-10 how much do you love Israel?” BUT I wouldn’t put it past the Donald to work something into his responses. Besides, if Carson were a little more seasoned he could pull a Kasich: “Great question…but I wanna talk about…” and then change the subject.

No need to confront on this one – just let him run the rope out and hang himself on his own. Any confrontation would produce even more idiots who think he is “being picked on” just because he’s being treated to the same scrutiny as everyone else who is (at least momentarily) in a front-row position.

Do you personally know “most of the Democrats”? You’d have to to make such a broad assessment of them. Did you consider that maybe…just maybe…there is no reason for “the Democrats” to make hay of this? The media and the GOP’ers are all over it which allows “the Democrats” to back off and save face.

Maybe Obama’s negotiating with Carson ( because he loved that rap video ) and secretly is paving the way for him. Yep…that’s got to be it. Tune in to Limbaugh for all the facts.

Yup! Popcorn and Raisinettes time!

Why does everyone keep leaving out the “scientists think aliens built the pyramids” part, which is the most batshit insane thing? It shows he has no grasp on reality at all.
It’s one thing to have your own doubts and crazy theories, but there’s a difference between thinking that Lyndon Johnson might have had a hand in killing Kennedy and saying that you “don’t believe the Warren Report’s conclusion that werewolves got him…”

Golly, wouldn’t you think a man who is a neurosurgeon wants all the scientifically accurate information he can get about his patient before beginning a surgical procedure? I would think that somebody who needs factual information in their work would also want factual information in other areas of their lives.

Can Carson recover from being a weak candidate? No, because he’s weak.
Next question.

I’m Ted Cruz man at this point – simply because I don’t think Carson could get the nomination.

Imagine the length of Hillary’s coattails if Cruz were the nominee. Adios Ayotte, Kirk, Johnson, Rubio, Toomey, Portman, Burr and Blunt. Hell, we might even replace a crazy for moderate Democrat in a House district here in Georgia.

Then again, there’s the extremely scary (albeit 5 percent) chance that Cruz would beat Hillary. Yikes.

I made the same observations, but also; the patently dishonest person in this “morality” tale would be the (fictitious) professor. 129 Yale students walking out of an exam because it was too tough (?) has nothing to do with dishonesty, except of course the dishonesty of the simple mind that made this story up.

Carson has told his half-truths and outright lies for decades and now, obviously, couldn’t find the truth in a field full of truths in truth mating season. His was a laudatory life story of accomplishments to be proud of, but he has so embellished and lied about his ‘story,’ creating a super achiever in all things and super doctor who, with the Big Skygod’s help, overcame super obstacles that never happened. His fabricated narrative has become his reality, a testament to ego and self-aggrandizement … and it’s just pathetic now.
He should just exit the stage quickly…there isn’t a shred of dignity left in him or his campaign. His blind and willfully ignorant devotees will see him as a martyr, destroyed by the liberal media, but generally he is very, very damaged goods and it’s over.
Buh bye Uncle Ben!

That’s not necessary because, as he’s said, god will intervene if the surgery isn’t going well.

Carson defends his recall of past events using as a partial explanation of his “inconsistencies” the far off time the events occurred and inevitable haziness of memories because of that distance in the past. Yet his book containing many now exposed inaccuracies was originally published in 1990 by Zondervan Press. http://www.zondervan.com/gifted-hands

At the time of writing he was not recalling events from “40 or 50 years ago” as he states to ABC News below. He was 39 when the book was published, obviously even younger as he was drafting it. He is not being challenged on versions of events as told by him today, but by a man writing about them when they were much fresher in his mind, a man of 39.

"Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon who is neck and neck with Donald Trump at the top of the polls, has experienced a torrid week as numerous inconsistencies in his 1992 autobiography, Gifted Hands, have been uncovered by reporters.

Asked on ABC if he believed he needed to be more precise in documenting his past, Carson said: ***“Show me somebody … who is 100% accurate in everything that they say happened 40 or 50 years ago.*** Please show me that person, because I will sit at their knees and I will learn from them.”

It’s a witch hunt by the liberal media because his message is important and the left is scared. They know better than to pay attention to a witch hunt.
