Discussion: Callista Gingrich Pens Patriotic Children's Book On Lewis And Clark

I didn’t know that Lewis and Clark were Republicans, that they were against same sex marriage, and had been married 12 times on their trip! (that’s not 12 each, its together).

Kids like monsters though.

No I have to edit this. That pic would have given me nightmares. She would have been chasing me, I would have been immobilized, and right before she bit by head off I would have woken up crying.

Back in the 80s or early 90s I talked to a college kid my own age who was raised in Ol’ Soviet Russia. He said that he and his pals had to go to camp every summer and learn about the Unbridled Glory of the USSR.

They wore neckerchiefs and sang songs and heard fictionalized accounts of their country’s prowess. He chuckled telling us.

Why did you go? we asked.

Our parents would get demoted or given crappier jobs if we didn’t. So we just all went.

Callista will be in charge of demotions.

Smallpox was not “committed” by the US government. If you’re referring to the incident with the blankets, that was done by the British government.

She can write? I thought all she could do was shack up with married men (well that and personally keep at least three beauty salons in full employ … hey, it isn’t easy or cheap to look that “natural”)

Is Mrs. Joker a Spring, a Winter or an Armageddon?
PS, that adorable cover mini elephant could be the GOP’s idea of Peale’s mastodon…

How about a children’s book on adultery?

But it is cheap to be that easy.

Wow. She replaced the Seaman the newfoundland with an elephant. Turned Lewis and Clark into Hannibal and Alexander.

And had baby Jeebus on his dinosaur leading them through the upper Columbia basin instead of Sacajawea.

Comedy gold.

I can see Thomas Jefferson approving the companion Squaw in the expedition funding request, but I really doubt he would have paid for the elephant.

Could TPM PLEASE use scare quotes when talking about “patriotism” and right wing nuts?

It does span the entire continent, as in end to end, just doesn’t cover it. I have no problem with using that word.

To be fair, in her & Newt’s case, it was patriotic adultery.

Elephants on the cover. Nothing subtle here, folks.

(Anybody else flash on TheJoker as played by HeathLedger?)

NoNoNo ! Not tonight, Newtie. I have a hair ache.

Or so Calista would have little kids believe. It seems they brought an elephant holding a flag with more stars than they had states.
I usually refrain from remarking on a person’s looks just because I loathe and destest them, but every time I see Calista I see Chicken Lady from Kids in the Hall.

Where is the black guy who made the whole trip?
