You buddy, are a liar. There are plenty of ‘cracks’ and YOU just fell thru one. Enjoy your short ‘victory’.

‘How is any Republican in California and New York going to vote for Trumpcare?’ Excerpt:

Rep. Dan Donovan (R-NY) went on All In with Chris Hayes Thursday evening to discuss his ongoing opposition to Trumpcare and Zombie Trumpcare for a whole host of reasons, including how badly it would hit the middle class and lower-income people and people with pre-existing conditions. But then he highlighted another issue, one that has been kind of hidden under all the other awfulness that is Trumpcare.

Residents of New York and California, where the state requires all insurance policies to include abortion coverage, wouldn’t get the tax credits for their insurance coverage. At all.

"…it’s about getting affordability back for middle-income folks and giving them choices,” Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA)

Bullshit. It’s about Republicans settling a political vendetta against Obama. Party before country. Always.

Drink up, boys! Party hardy! For tomorrow you shall die politically. Hope it was worth it to prop up Donnie boy’s ego.

If any of these soon-to-be-unemployed hacks are your representative, please give them a call and let them know how you feel and that you’ll do everything you can to see them removed from office in 2018.

Rep. Steve Knight (R-CA): 202-225-1956
Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA): 202-225-3076
Rep. Jeff Denham (R-CA): 202-225-4540
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA): 202-225-3906

Already sent a note to Mimi Walters.

“California can adjust their abortion policy,” LaMalfa quipped.

I could understand someone from another state making such a flippant remark. But, this asshole is from California!

Let’s see, now, how many California Republicans just dug their political graves, jumped in them and then shoveled the dirt over themselves? Probably not enough to tip the House next year, but a good start.

Obvious question: Why are there any Republican members from California?

(And any answer that includes the phrase “safe district” just morphs the question into why those exist.)

I realize there’s an ostensibly independent redistricting commission, but…

Little more than a quarter of registered voters are Republicans.

And Democrats have more than a 2-to-1 advantage in the state legislature.

So why are Republican members from California still even a thing – especially after today?

Can’t we just eliminate them entirely, like smallpox?

Voting to pass a bad bill under the hopes that someone else (the Senate) will fix your fuckup is the definition of political cowardice. The republicans are such spineless asshats.

Of course nobody fell through the cracks – there are no cracks, just one huge precipice.

At this point in time, we can probably eliminate Republicans in, say, OC. But the agricultural inland areas of the state a very different from the coastal, technology dominated ones. We must try and we can probably make inroads there but our common dream of 0-Republican CA congressional delegation will probably remain a dream.

Add Mimi Walters here.
And this is from another thread:
“Dear Representative Walters,
I wanted to let you know that following your vote for the repeal of ACA, I will be sending donations today to you future opponents, Dave Min and Katie Porter, as well as DNC.
I will attempt to keep you updated on my donations to defeat you next year
although I can not promise to do so consistently since the donations
will be quite frequent.”

I live in California but not (after the last redistricting) in a Republican district. But I live (literally) within a stone’s throw of one (starts at the end of my street), and there are others quite close by. I am going to work to see how many of these troglodytes we can purge from this great state’s House representation.

All voted to kill Americans? All must pay the price. Some will be returned to Washington, but I will be damned if Issa is among them. He just barely squeaked through last time. Next time, R.I.P.

The California 1st Congressional District is filled with conservative, redneck, pecker wood, meth labbin’ State of Jefferson Secessionists. Much to my chagrin. It is impossible for the Redistricting Commission to reasonably create a district with a balanced number of voters. Full disclosure: I am a lifelong registered, Democratic voting, Republican.

Democrats today have been handed the opportunity to do just that. Let’s see…

California used to tilt rather significantly Republican, and parts of the state – mostly rural in the north and inland, as well as the traditional Orange County types of locales – still do. Recall that this is the state that gifted our nation with two Presidents so far: Nixon and Reagan.

The state’s demographics have not, to put it mildly, been working in the GOP’s favor recently. We’re getting more diverse (ahem, more brown), and Gov. Pete Wilson’s brilliant Pyrrhic victory with Prop. 187 back in the day really accelerated the trend.

Take, for example, CA-49, the district currently represented by that odious reptile Darryl Issa. In many respects, it is ideal Cal-Republican territory: includes chunks of OC, inland agricultural parts, and a significant military presence. He barely won this last time, came down to a nail-biting recount. His chances in '18? Hahahaha.

I’m going to be meeting the person running against my Southern California GOP Congressman tonight. He’ll be at the meeting of my Democratic Club.

OC as a whole went blue for Secretary Clinton. So the tide is turning.
