Discussion: Calif. Mayor: We Didn't Mean To Turn Buses With Migrant Families Away

Well, he, Alan Long, didn’t exactly accept them either and isn’t offering any real help now.
Mayor Long had his chance to be a decent human being and failed. He can’t make that right by denying his actions or outright lying. This guys debt is growing.

Don’t expect NickDanger to be up on understanding what was going on in Murrieta. What Mr Danger has posted to and about me in a related thread shows a very simplistic approach to the problem of immigration.

Thank you for illuminating your intellectual scope there, Republican.

Simple is all they have. Wouldn’t want to tax the little grey cells by expecting too much of them, would you?

I am a fan of your posts.

Shall I take it Drail that you wish to deny an education to a fellow human being? How compassionate of you.

If they come here ‘‘legal’’ i am all for it. What don’t you understand about ‘‘legal’’ and illegal.

I know - it is a simplistic approach that so many take to complicated issues. What I never understand is their complete inability to identify with difficult situations on a human level.

And the spitting at the immigrant advocate
was just your unique way welcoming??? That is considered assault these days.

What a lying piece of shit. The mayor should have known that words do indeed have consequences. When you gin up fear, hate and distrust don’t be surprised that the rubes take your words seriously.

Factually your math is WAYYYYYYYY off. the average cost per pupil in All of California is only $9000 dollars. For Murrieta Unified it is only $ 7003 dollars per pupil. My source: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/fd/ec/currentexpense.asp

Now to keep California prisoners in prison it costs $ 50K per year. Which brings up one tangential point, it is cheaper to graduate from UCLA or Cal Berkley than it is to graduate from San Quentin. So you decide buckaroo, but make sure you are being factually correct and not just quoting from some bombastic mouth breathing either on conservative radio or Faux News.

Just a few quick questions: If you were a parent and your child was in danger of being killed, wouldn’t you desperately want to protect your child? Wouldn’t you get out of that situation immediately? Or, would you wait to be sure you were carefully following procedures?

Thank you for doing that research and giving us FACTS.

The aliens needed compassion because they were rerouted to his county to ease overcrowding in other facilities but the outrage he ginned up made the crowd turn the bus away due to compassion for the aliens - wait…what was I saying again?

I try diligently to make any disagreement with someone about the topic at hand and not the poster. On another site I used to visit and comment on they had their comments set up to record the number of fans a particular poster had. I wish TPM did that as well.

You just proved my point!!! (by providing another simplistic description of the situation)

Many of the unaccompanied kids who recently crossed the border came in search of their relatives who had already come here (legally or illegally). Others came here to escape drug violence. Or that the cartels were trying to nab them into their service. There are as many reason for coming to the US as there are people coming here. You cannot lump everyone into one simple category, Drail, it just does not work the way you think it does. The world is not as simple…as black and white as you seem to hope it is.

$50 million for a new school? You’re quite mad. All your arguments fall apart as a result of your hyperbole.

Exactly. Earlier they showed how they put one side of the protesters on one side of the road and the other protesters on the other side. He and the sheriff could have easily provided an egress to allow the buses to continue through the road of the town but chose to let the anti-immigrant protesters dictate what would happen to those buses with this lame excuse he’s using now.
