This is an interesting development. I wonder how it will all turn out.
As ever: Play stupid games, get stupid prizes.
Butina’s lawyers had sought to . . . block him from taking the bench at her sentencing hearing on Friday.
While it is possible for an ex-FBI agent to become a judge, I truly doubt that Mr. Anderson took the bench. He may have, however, taken the stand.
(Yes, perhaps a little too hair splitting, but I really would like to see good journalism when I’m paying for it.)
She may end up being the only immigrant to receive a pardon from the Great White Dope.
Her lawyers are nearly as bad as Trump’s lawyers.
I still think there is something very fishy going on here.
I mean, she’s an accused spy who has a cooperation agreement. That means she has to come clean on everything – including her Russian spymasters.
Now, if I’m a Russian spy, and I decide to turn on my spymasters, I sure as hell don’t want to be deported back home – I’d want asylum…if not in the US, at least somewhere besides Russia.
So what the hell is going on here?
It will be interesting to see what Putin’s Puppet (the evolved PP) has to say about all this.
Still waters…there is more to Butina that meets the eye.
O/T Did anybody see this? Very disturbing …
North Korea Gave U.S. $2 Million Hospital Bill for Otto Warmbier’s Care: Report
North Korea reportedly insisted that the United States agree to pay a $2 million hospital bill before returning American prisoner Otto Warmbier, who was in a coma at the time of his release and later died.
A U.S. envoy signed an agreement to pay the bill at the instruction of President Donald Trump, two unnamed sources told the Washington Post.
Boo-hoo-Butina
We all know the history of that guy paying bills.
Ol’ Red is going up the river to the big house
Thought she was a player didn’t she.
Best part was this looser who thought he was “Big Time”
If only she could secure Wayne LaPierre as a character witness her troubles would be over. LOL
Two possibilities I see here. First, and more likely, Butina “cooperated” but not enough to make the feds happy. Typically “cooperation” means you give them enough to successfully charge someone else. Just “cooperating” without that outcome, even if done in good faith, means they don’t reduce your recommended sentence. So that suggests they didn’t get much out of her.
Second possibility is that they just want to keep her in the US for another year cause once she’s gone she ain’t coming back, ever. Reasons for that are ripe for speculation.
So are you going to go as far as to imply Trump Co. will pay and then send the Warmbiers a bill? Wouldn’t that be a new trick for an old dog?
Of course not. They’ll pay 60 cents on the dollar, then sue the Warmbiers for triple the amount.
And Ollie, then he can proclaim olley oxen-free.
Nah…Spankee cut a deal with his little Korean dictator buddy in which Kim gets the money but they split it 50-50 afterwards.
ETA: …and then Spankee will send the Warmbiers a bill for $ 2M…
“Had she successfully done so, the risks to the United States would have
included harm to this country’s political processes, internal
government dealings, and U.S. foreign policy interests,” the prosecutors
said
But we’ve already got this with the dumpster’s administration.
