Discussion: Butina: Feds' Baseless Honeypot Claims Fanned 'Sexist And Misogynistic Flames'

“Machina” really is what Russians call cars. My late father-in-law would say, “Put this in the machina.” Or “Where did you park my machina?”

Didn’t something like $300K pass through the accounts she established “to fund her studies”? Mostly from overseas wire transfers IIRC. And there are plenty of pictures of her with Torshin (with her looking uncomfortable). For him, that $300K would be like an ordinary person spending the price of a cup of coffee.

And who could doubt that this cutie pie was magnetically attracted to paunchy, middle-aged men? I mean, come-on!

She could be “admiring their good posture” which is what that Playmate claimed she liked about Trump…

That is Italian for a car, too. Maybe the Russians picked it up from them.

My Irish descended grandmother always called it “the machine.” She was born around 1898 or so.

THere’s nothing in it for the Government if it’s not true. There’s everything in Ms. Butina’s claims for her. Russian bullshit. That’s all this is. Russia is the nation on earth most full of shit and this woman is a Russian. She’s here to funnel money from Russia through the NRA to GOP candidates. She 's doing that at Putin’s behest in order to get sanctions lifted that put Putin’s stolen money in a bind. Sex or no sex…she’s here to pervert our politics for Russia’s benefit.

You just don’t understand how tough it is out there for a Russian agent.

Poor thing.

In making their request, prosecutors said they had “substantial evidence” that Butina was in a sham relationship with GOP operative Paul Erickson. “On at least one occasion,” they said, she offered to trade sex with a different operative in order to receive a job with a special interest organization.

All i can say is that sex must have been on an entirely different level from anything i’ve ever experienced or even imagined to be that tempting. I’m no prude, but i just can’t imagine any sex with her being that rewarding.

Strangely I was taught machina. Not meccanica. By Italian lessons.

He had nothing to say about those allegations?

And he says even the government does not properly allege that she’s an intelligence agent:

[…]

And so on.

So what do you mean by the following?

I notice he had nothing to say about the allegations that she’s a Russian agent.

Speaking of the NRA, they are very quiet these days.

That exchange about the car seemed fairly equivocal but even if you took it off the table there was basically nothing kosher about any of this stuff. It’s all Russkie influence operative right down the line. And if everything was fine about it, it sure seems a bit off that she was packing up and getting the hell out of Dodge when they arrested her.

I wouldn’t call him a terrible attorney, no.

Someone should tell the folks at ALFA-Romeo, who use the slogan “la meccanica dell’emozione.”
