I think it’s safe to say that she’s got 0 credibility from hereon out; how could one trust that anything she said wasn’t in cause for a “sting” or similarly underhanded propaganda purpose?
This isn’t rooted in malice, spite or anything like that… I just think that she’s sold her reputation to the devil (of partisan agenda). Even republicans, assuming they’re cagey, would question her motives in any interaction; is she working for a primary opponent?
(And, as America becomes a one-party kakistocracy in the republican political class’s barely concealed efforts to Make America Great Like Zimbabwe - this will definitely start becoming a concern; primaries could very well be lethal to more than one’s career. 
I wonder what McCarthy would think about his party’s attempt to turn the US into a Stalinist regime. … Actually, he’d probably be all for it.)
Anyway, speaking of black lists, I wonder if there’s a black list for people like Jaime Phillips. Probably more photos than names, since she could always provide a false identity. Also, I am uncertain about how I feel about there being (or not being) such a registry.

Um, no. He is no doubt a smelly dipshit but he’s not “every” anything. One of the biggest reasons that Doug Jones is a long shot against Roy Moore? ACORN is gone. ACORN was working for affordable housing, financial regulation, gun control, voter registration, living wages, and it was by far the largest and most effective political organization of poor rural Southerners. O’Keefe, unlike everyday high school scapegoats, killed ACORN cold. Yes, he got lucky with killing ACORN. The combination of Dems not fighting back at all and a powerful right wing media pushing his criminally misleading video was lethal. However, he’s had significant success since ACRON. Among other things, he’s been successful at creating an environment where all state funding of Planned Parenthood is threatened and various large news organizations, including the NYT, have fired reporters and editors due to O’Keefe’s work. Sure, he’s lost in court and is generally disparaged in most serious media but . . . he’s successfully changed the world around him and seems to have funding and support to keep going, despite his setbacks. I wish this wasn’t the case but dismissing O’Keefe as a smelly dipshit is disingenuous and not helpful to reducing the damage he does.

Worth noting that under normal circumstances, a guy like O’Keefe, who relies on private donations, apparently from dark conservative sources, would already be out of work and totally discredited. He has been caught trying to wiretap Mary Landrieu’s office, leaving his plan to infiltrate a George Soros funded non-profit on the organization’s voicemail by mistake, trying to pose as a Detroit Free Press reporter appearing to attempt registering to vote without ID, and a plan to “meet and attempt to seduce a female reporter for CNN, and engage in “kinky” sex with her. After this, he would attempt to feed her a false, politically charged story, and then - after it aired - debunk it. He would follow this up by revealing the affair and denigrating her as someone who only worried about sex and getting the easy, politically hot, stories.” (I didn’t write this. As totally ludicrous as it sounds, it was copied from a Wiki about O’Keefe and his antics.)
These attempts were so amateurish and inept and childlike that it is hard to believe anyone would keep giving O’Keefe money to carry on, but clearly there are GOP donors who do so.
It is a clear illustration that today’s GOP has essentially NO scruples, will do anything and say anything it needs to maintain control and is never deterred by being called out.
As witness today reports that Donnie is still claiming Obama’s birth certificate is suspect and telling associates he thinks the Access Hollywood bus tape is a fake.
It just goes on and on and no matter how many times you prove it wrong, it never stops because with constant repetition, they have proven they get the results they want…vast number of folks who believe absolute falsehoods generated by their friends and allies and well coordinated across numerous platforms and outlets.

Oh no, I was referencing her recording conversations her landlord was having since she was right there in the basement.
Edit - But it appears it was in a house the landlord owned. Article said in her “home”, but probably should have said in a house she owned, it makes it sound like she rented in her actual home.

I see that now, the wording “in her home” should really clarify it was in a house she owned. If you don’t actually live there even part time, it’s not a “home”.
That she was laughed at and dismissed pisses me off every day. Sure, she’s made some mistakes, but on the whole she’s been right about the overwhelming majority of what she’s said, predicted, and warned. But, ya know, emails, speeches, and vagina.

In NY, if you are part of the conversation, even if there are more than 2 people, recording is considered a form of note taking.
No notice (like a beep on a phone call) is needed and it applies to in-person as well as over the phone.
I’ve used this often, in fact I used it 2 weeks ago on a subcontractor that was working himself up to screwing us on a project. Now that he knows I have contemporaneous ‘notes’, he’s going to complete the contract service. I’ll tell you one thing, once they know and hear that you have them on a recording, they howl like monkeys.
It’s a real pleasure, and a highlight of my holiday this year, to see a fucking trumpanzie screech like a banshee when you out maneuver them at their own game. It seems the lot of them are trying to take their cue from the Mango Mussolini about how to do business. I had a uhaul dealer try to blatantly screw me by claiming I had damaged the truck. Contemporaneous video of the entire truck (with the shitstain owner of the franchise IN the video-what a moron) got it settled fast with corporate, not a usual thing for uhaul by any means.
Watch your asses out there with these deplorables, take pictures, video, audio recordings. Keep all records like you’re going to be sued (a good practice regardless) because you’re going to run in to this shit out there!

I was referencing a situation where she was in the basement and taping a conversation the landlord was having with another person (Democrat to Democrat conversation) for political purposes. That would definitely be illegal.
