Oof. I get that it’s news, but it’s still shocking to see it spelled out on the TPM front page. Talk about shifting norms…
Perhaps the Bundy boys will be there, locked and loaded. I understand that some of them have recently cleared their schedules.
This RNC poll watcher, Shana, who is supposed to lie about being from the RNC sounds lovely. Again, this is why you don’t text or email if you cannot be civil.
Wait, former Apple VP Scott Forstall is a DNC election monitor?
Hello continuation of Consent Decree - into infinity. They won’t follow the rules.
@tena–What are the rules for the Republicans? I’m hazy on the consent decree and the background for all this.
If she took time to put it in caps… Why not ask her
It’s just goes to show what kind of people they are ,
As for TPM…Just reporting the facts ma’am
The really damniing thing is that the.operation was clearly organized by partly HQ in DC, and not just on a state or local level, or self-motivated Trumpsters. Pretty much caught red handed.
It’s an old court case in which the RNC was sued for voter intimidation and they settled it with a consent decree in which the RNC promised not to do what they are now doing.
I c*n’t argue with that line of thought.
It seems very unkind to not have blurred out or cropped the last text. It’s outing a private nasty remark with no relevance except to embarrass the sender.
If the memo part is true, it would be nice to be looking at a little more than simply extension of the decree.
Mainstream media: Yawn. Not unexpected. Not a blockbuster. Not about Hillary. Can’t work it into the preconceived and unchangeable default campaign story line…
That was certainly my takeaway as well. Between depositions and employment records from the RNC, it should be fairly easy to prove the DNC’s case that the RNC was still actively engaged in poll watching and actively trying to obscure their involvement. This is blatant disregard of a court order, if not contempt. Any of our fine lawyers here want to weigh in?
So, Democrats are allowed poll watchers, but Republicans aren’t… at all? Is this INSIDE the poll?
Exactly so - they appear to be in very direct violation of the decree.
And hell maybe we’ll sue them again. Get the consent decree extended and hit them with another judgment.
We should.
That’s why I would like to hear some opinions of lawyers. This seems especially egregious. It’s one thing to informally skirt around the decree by using state GOPers who aren’t technically under it’s scope. It’s a totally different matter to use actual RNC employees, produce training materials, and tell them to lie about their affiliation. This all seems like a rather blatant screw you to the court.
You know it would be so nice, even refreshing if these assholes could admit that the only way they can win an election is by cheating these days. How about it Rinse Pubis? Ready to admit that all these attempts are nothing more than fear over the fact that you can’t win fair and square if you have to follow the rules???
That sounds like Republican SOP.
