And you then cleave yourself out of the debate within the Republican Party about what does the Republican Party stand for.
Ex-republicans (such as myself) see this as integrity.
“It’s a very difficult position that a lot of Republicans are in and it
sounds easy so a number of my Republican friends have said, ‘He does not
have the temperament; therefore, I endorse Hillary Clinton.’ And that
is a legitimate approach,” Hadley said. “The problem with that approach
is that Republicans will then say, ‘Well, you know, you really weren’t a
Republican anyway’ and shelve them. And you then cleave yourself out of
the debate within the Republican Party about what does the Republican
Party stand for.”
That was a more nuanced answer? Sounded more like a weaselly answer to me.
Repuke double-talk lesson, 1.
“The problem with that approach is that Republicans will then say, ‘Well, you know, you really weren’t a Republican anyway’ and shelve them. And you then cleave yourself out of the debate within the Republican Party about what does the Republican Party stand for.”
Because when it comes to giving Trump nukes the real important question is “How does this affect the Republican Party.”
By Mr. Hadley’s standard, Lincoln, TR, Eisenhower have been cleaved from the GOP, because they sure as hell did not stand for the kind of dipshittery currently in vogue with the party.
Hadley’s a legendary coward, third-tier pseudointellectual, shameless Bush enabler, and way-out-of-his depth-grifter. Just look at his pusillanimous double talk!!
Should be flipping burgers, and sharing his loathsome might-be-A-but-might-also-be-B idiocy with the french fry crew!
Nothing “nuanced” about that answer. Hadley clearly said that his status within the Republican Party is more important than the security of the USA.
Which answer will benefit the ninny more? That’s his sole uncertainty.
Stephen Hadley is a disgusting piece of shit and a classic war-monger. This is a guy who wants to involve the US in any war it can get itself into, mainly to improve his stock portfolio.
He admitted fault in allowing a disputed claim about Iraq’s quest for nuclear weapons material to be included in Bush’s January 28, 2003 State of the Union Address (see Yellowcake forgery).
During the Syrian chemical weapons crisis in September 2013, Hadley appeared on Bloomberg TV, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and also wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post in which he advocated attacking Syria with missiles. At the time, Hadley was a director at Raytheon and owned 11,477 shares of stock, but the news organizations failed to disclose the link and conflict of interest. (Wikipedia)
Who gives a shit what this man has to say. They really are scraping the bottom of the barrel by asking any of the Bushies what they think about tRump, as most of them should be discredited in the first place from offering an opinion on anything to do with national security. Wasn’t it enough they fucked over the country when they were in charge? All of them really are irrelevant, both to tRump’s campaign or Hillary’s for that matter.
With all these “troubled” Republicans, I wonder how many will say they support Trump but pull the lever for Hillary on election day.
What they’ll do is go to a movie that day IMHO.
“You got to figure out about what it says about the country,” Hadley said.
Hadley works in the field of intelligence gathering and analysis, yet after watching Trump for a year he still has things to "figure out".
shorter Hadley: “I want to stay relevant and pick the winning side and stay employed as a VSP! I don’t know what to do!”
You are correct, sir!
The GOP is inextricably bound to the Drumpfster Fire.
Thanks!

Please remember this is a Bush National Security Adviser: Yes it is, just dump him, the sooner the better.
(well, personally, I prefer you keep him, I like the show)
What he means is: We need to purge the Republican Party, rather than be purged from the party. The infrastructure of the party is too valuable to be left in the hands of these idiots. However, this may be easier to do after a catastrophic defeat than it is right now.
“You got to figure out about what it says about the country,” Hadley said. No, Mr. Hadley… what needs to happen is that you “got” to figure out about what it says about your party.
Stephen Hadley - wake the hell up! Basically - for you - It is like this - you are sitting at a table - there are two plates of food before you - one has Lima Beans (which we will say that you truly cannot stand) the other plate has apple pie that you know for certain is laced with highly toxic levels of strychnine … you must chose… no existential debates about how wonderful non-toxic apple pie could be if only properly prepared… you are compelled to eat one of what is on the table …so chose! … this is not hard
… hint:Lima Beans will not kill you … toxic levels of strychnine will…
Sad to think a guy that seemingly is more loyal to his party than the country, base on this article, was in such a high level position in the past, but then again I think, and thought, Bush made some horrible decisions so maybe he’s just covering his ass more than anything. Still pretty sad and pathetic either way, especially for the folks that suffered and continue to suffer today.
