Discussion: Burr Resolute On Don Jr Subpoena Despite Day Of Attacks From GOP Colleagues

I’d like to think, as his Committee has investigated the Russian interference, Burr is actually looking to see some accountability for being receptive to Foreign influence…even if only a public flogging vs a prosecution.

Now that you found this , please tell your fellow Republicans where to find theirs

Wasn’t Burr one of the few senators mentioned in the Mueller report (leaking info to Team Trump)? Seeking atonement?

Who does he think he is… this Burr fellow? What is he trying to do… actually honoring of his OATH?
Damn it! Is this another case of principles getting in the way of politics? Damn it!

Burr’s game here is difficult to divine, but I struggle to believe he’s on the up and up as to his intentions and goals.

getting concerned a little, mr. president abomination? Seems there are some in the republikkkan cult who are starting to get a little concerned about continuing to defend your criminality. seems like the truth will out concerning the Mueller report and all the lies and deceptions you’ve employed to keep it hidden.

Waiting for a republican to do the right thing?

The arrow of time can supposedly move in any direction and perhaps the eggs I crack for breakfast will somehow pull themselves back together too.

Gravity? Merely a construct! That beer I spilled last night might just have well gone up.

I gave my pet manatee a typewriter yesterday. I guess it shouldn’t have been an IBM Selectric 'cuz I electrocuted that whiskered bundle of love. But if I had given him a manual, I’m certain Macbeth would have appeared on my nightstand by morning.

I shot a manatee in my pajamas the other day - how he got in them I’ll never know…

I’ve never been accused of being an optimist, but I do hold out some slim hope that a few of these bastards will remember that they serve the country and not the president.

Burr is smart enough to understand that this is a bigger fight than some of his colleagues seem to think. This is what happens when you become the party of nepotism.

Burr was elected to a six year term in 2016. Should he run again it won’t be until 2022. He has made public statements saying he does not intend to run again that year.

U.S. Sen. Richard Burr won’t run for another term – or for any elected office – after this year’s election, he told North Carolina Republican convention delegates Wednesday.

Burr, the state’s senior Republican senator, is seeking his third term in this year’s election, facing a challenge from former state Rep. Deborah Ross, a Democrat. If he wins in November, he said he’ll serve the six-year term and then retire from politics in 2022.

they might quit (Flake, Corker, Gowdy, Chaffetz), but I’m done thinking any one of those fuckers treasonweasels will do the right thing.

they’ll only do the right thing if they determine it’s politically expedient to do so. I get the feeling some in the fascistgop are starting to get the sense that the unredacted Mueller report will indeed see the light of day, and they’re trying to get ahead of the curve.

most days I’m unreservedly cynical about the direction our country is headed politically. for today, at least, I’m shooting for a more optimistic outlook.

It is a spine or Integrity? The rethugs do not have any morals, ethics or personal integrity.

Oh I don’t trust any of them, and Burr hasn’t earned any cred what-so-ever.

I just think that when things start to get really serious they start pre-reading their names in History books and then maybe, just maybe, they might come to their senses.

we keep thinking they care about their legacy; they care about their bank accounts and ability to retain and wield power.

so yeah, if the political winds shift they’ll try to get out in front but I’ve watched a host of these guys fail to do anything but uphold rethuglican values so I’ll retain my sense of defensive pessimism until I see some semblance of spinefullness.

More likely. is that with all the scandals that have hit the GOP in North Carolina he wants to look “mavericky”. Might come handy next election. And who knows, maybe he also really hates Jr’s guts.

They all do seem to want to get a footnote in before they step out the door in a, “Yes my grandfather fought for the Germans, but he was in the Wehrmacht not the SS.” kind of way.

Not criticizing you in the slightest for your pessimism either. I’m just not quite ready to give up that last molecule of hope.

He is being honest with himself.
Every one of those fuckers covering for Trump know exactly what they’re doing.
Lying right to our faces
They all love to play dumb , like faux news is the only news outlet in the country.
We’ll see who looks stupid after it all comes out
How many Rubles did you get?

Nice to see the Republicans boxing themselves in… What do they think they’d accomplish by getting him to withdraw the subpoena, other than yet the next argument for impeachment?
