Other than coming out in blackface and singing “Mammy”, I really don’t know what’s left for this guy to do.

Live and learn. I never really thought of blaming racism on MLK before. What kind of schools do they have in Nevada?

Let him keep on yakking.

Just stop, Bundy. It’s over.

Trouble is, he went to school before the Civil Rights era and kind of got stuck there. Many people can continue to evolve in their viewpoints after their basic school lessons.

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy said Friday that he doesn’t believe his remarks on blacks and slavery were “offensive,” and if other people take them that way, it means civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. “didn’t do his job.”

Well, I don’t know about MLK not doing his job, but he certainly didn’t finish his job. Perhaps that’s because someone like you put a bullet in his head.

Maybe he could have “done his job” if James Earl Ray hadn’t shot him down.

This comment from a new FB friend of mine concerning the Bundy fiasco needs to be networked around… I have taken two posts and edited them as one…

Jimmy Garst reacted a bit overzealously at first when he responded to another of my family/friends comment, typically I will remove any offensive and hostile comments, but this time I left it up because I could read between the anger and knew the person was spot-on about the subject matter, even if they were a bit over the top on their approach to the debate. But today he posted a very cogent and concise overview of the entire BLM/Bundy thing, and it is one of the best perspectives I have read, ANYWHERE in the news or on the internet.

You may not like what he is saying, but it is hard to debate him unless you are really an authority, and I doubt anyone can cogently argue for the other side of this false debate based on inaccurate portrayals of Bundy and his motives.

That doesn’t mean a few won’t debate, it just means that they are all talking out their other orifice, and we are used to that on the toobz, especially on FB.

Here’s Jimmy’s latest offering… a little editing for typos, but I can’t add to or change anything Jimmy has already offered.

"John, Your family have been watching too much propaganda sponsored by our fascist owned media monopolies. They have absolutely no understanding of the Bundy Issue of the BLM…
As a NV resident since 86, I’m very connected to this story. I hold Federal mining claims; and, I have interacted with both the BLM and the ranchers who graze my claims. Furthermore, I was a resident of Winnemucca, birth place of the Freeman / Sovereign Citizen groups.
I’m currently a resident of Clark County where the Bundy’s live.
This movement sprang from the murder trial of Claude Dallas who had murdered two game wardens who were attempting to arrest Claude for poaching. The jury felt Claude was being harassed and wouldn’t convict. The judge overruled and gave Claude 20 years.
What followed were the Ruby Ridge shoot out, the Tim McVey bombing in OK, Waco and now Bundy.

Bundy and his crowd are anarchists who may have even assisted Tim McVey.

They do not believe in government and the rule of law. These people do not believe in paying taxes and they don't even register their vehicles. And, they believe they should have the right to defend their civil disobedience with a gun.

The BLM is not always easy to deal with and working with them often seems like you are pounding your head against the Wall. Nevertheless, responsible citizens pay their fees and abide by their land management policies. The grazing fees are reasonable; and, these fees help to finance the state and federal land management.

Bundy has not paid his grazing fees for 20 years and now owes over $1 million for unpaid fees.

Why should he be allowed a free pass while responsible citizens pay? Because he can threatened people with a gun? Bundy’s claim that NV land should be privately owned was taken before a federal judge by what was called the Sage Brush Rebellion. This case lost, yet Bundy refused to accept the rule of law.
Bundy claims his right to the land as a pioneer settler.

This ignores the reality that our government first took the land from Native Americans. Right wing groups are falsely trying to link this dispute to Harry Reid and the solar energy industry that is considering a project in the area. Bundy is North of Vegas. Both of the existing projects are located South of town near the Dam and transmission lines. This dispute has little or nothing to do with Reid and solar.

What is at the center of this fight is the desert turtle. The City of Las Vegas, The environmentalists, Developers and the BLM had worked out an agreement to mitigate the impact of urban expansion on the turtle habitat. In exchange for allowing developers to develop, the BLM agreed to purchase the grazing rights in this value and to make this a protected habitat for the turtles. They purchased all the existing grazing rights from willing sellers in 1998.

Bundy has already lost his rights for non-payment. Many portray Bundy as a cowboy outlaw hero. He is a criminal, a socio-path and a domestic and environmental terrorist. The militia groups who have come to his defense are a bunch of gun rights, neo-Nazi, anarchist types. Bundy has disobeyed two Federal Court orders and is now in contempt of Court. He and his crowd do have no respect for the rule of law. A Nation without laws will only exist in chaos.

The biggest issue today regarding grazing is not free grass, but the reduction of grazing rights.

In the 70s, environmentalists came to the belief that grazing was harmful to our Western lands. Grazing has decreased from 18 million AUMS in 1970 to about 8 million today. By removing cattle from the land, this leaves the grass for fuel that then burns in fires caused by lightning.

We have now lost 60+% of the sage in NV from lightning fires since 1970. Once the sage burns, it is replaced by the invasive species, Chinese cheat grass. The cheat grass chokes out and prevents the regrowth of the slower growing sage. Rather than sell the grass, the BLM lets it burn.

Destroying the ecosystem and contributing to climate change. additionally, rather than use the cattle to fight the fire, they spend money on a fire fighting industry, reducing management revenue and increasing costs.

Poor land management.

This is the fight being waged by the Cattleman’s Association, not the fringe Freeman anarchist free grass movement of One Rancher. The focus on Bundy is totally counter productive. The fight is not for “free grass” but “let them eat cheat grass”.

Bundy has no legal grazing rights and is not part of the good fight.

Furthermore, considering the limited grass resources in Southern NV, he is insane to even graze this land.

The entire Bundy movement is stupid on every level. But, stupid sheep are easily manipulated by hatemongering and irrational beliefs."

It’s good to see this guy stopped digging that hole he’s in and started pulling the dirt in over himself.

This incredibly stupid man still doesn’t get it. He is an ignoramus of the first water, almost too stupid to breathe. Unfortunately, he has already fathered 14 children, most of whom I will assume have inherited his backward, bigoted way of thinking. He is a complete joke, and as for all those who have been defending him, here’s what you’re standing up for; prejudice and hatred. Nice going! Hope you’re soon sitting in a jail cell, deadbeat.

Bundy has been referred to as a “Right Wing Hero”.

He seems to personify the Republican Party in all regards.

“Hero” or “Taker” - something for nothing, his ‘right’ to take from the taxpayer, a free loader on the public, someone who lives off public giveaways. That would be a “hero” to the Republicans but obviously a taker.

What makes Bundy a ‘hero’ to Republicans? Is it that he’s an old white male?

I think not. I think it’s Bundy’s wealth.

When a wealthy person (even one who inherited it, like Bundy), sucks at the public teat, he is a Republican hero. Lower to no taxes, ‘incentives’, loop holes, etc. or simply using public land without compensating the public - All accepted Republican practices, as long as they’re done by the wealthy.

I think we’ve established that this guy is a lunatic.

It’s MLK’s fault. He’s just the victim. His words not mine.

The victimhood thing is common to every rise of fascism back in the 20th century. This militia movement that supports Bundy reeks of fascism. My thinking of fascism is that it isn’t a school of thought so much as a tendency for a mass of the population to support a movement based on belief. Reasons for saying this? I note that there are ass hats with some common cause (guns, disillusionment with government and government overreach), a rooting of the movement in the NRA (which supports the common cause with money and wild eyed rhetoric about the grand nature of the cause), support from a propaganda arm in the media (FOX, talk radio, etc.) and power ceded to the group from government officials for the common cause (politicians who support Bundy and the NRA). The only thing we have lacking is a central figure who the crazies rally behind as the voice of the movement. Nobody has great traction on that front, but FOX seems to be looking for that figure or perhaps trying to cultivate the image of such a figure.

Is TPM the All Bundy Channel All the Time? Give it a rest guys.

He is for civil rights which he means his civil rights to say what he thinks without anyone getting offended. I agree, he should be able to say whatever he really thinks. He wants Rosa Parks to sit on the bus wherever she wants to, but in reality Bundy thinks she is better off picking cotton, growing her garden, and singing swanny river at the end of the day.

It is because MLK did his job, people are offended by Bundy’s racism.
