Discussion: Bryan Cranston Takes A Shot At Trump In Tony Speech, Dedicates Award To Journalists

Isn’t “media” a collective noun like “family?” The brits say, “The family are going to the sea,” but we say, “the family IS going to the sea.”

I say Cranston was right. “Medium” is not typically used to describe one newspaper, but “media outlets” (plural) might be used to describe more than one type of type of organization.

Their boots were definitely haute couture for boots.

“Follow the money.”

Okay, now you’ve gone too far!

If anything bad should happen to me, we’ll all know who it was who incited the perpetrators.

Yeah, at least he was a successful businessman.

It’s probably true that they’re uncultured, but there was singing and dancing and jokes and it was free.

There was a profound political statement in Breaking Bad about what happens when someone is stricken with cancer and can’t afford access to health care. We don’t all have Walter’s drug manufacturing skill set, but people with ACA have spoken about what it means to them when cancer is diagnosed.

O I really did think that was a major subtext to the show right from the beginning - I always thought it was a snapshot of America and our shitty fucking healthcare system.

Oh no you don’t!

Tucker is busy fighting off the invading metric system, so I will have to step in here. This is America. We use the English system of measurements and we speak the English language. We aren’t about to let some foreigners from Britain tell us we should do something else.

Especially not from Britain, because the people there are barking mad. I watched a cooking show once, and this bloke was calling sausages “bangers,” like he was planning to set them off on Fourth of July. Next, he grabbed some Parsley and named it Herb, as if he’d heard it give a speech quoting Pokemon. Bloody hell.

Lung cancer and how it’s treated is very personal chez blue. The depiction of chemo treatment was accurate and hard to watch because it was so accurate including coming home puking and losing hair and appetite just when the patient needs to maintain a healthy diet.

I know it’s personal to you.

We actually didn’t watch the show when it was first shown because that aspect was hard to watch even for us and we haven’t had that experience.

But we’ve seen it all now and it got even more about unaffordable treatment and care after Hank lost his legs.

I have a nephew who’s lived in the UK for 25 years with his smashing British bride, and damn, he’s left his Sacramento roots entirely behind. I don’t understand much of what he says or writes. Of course as Lady Bird said in that film, Sacramento is the midwest of California so maybe he’s onto something.

So would Jesse Pinkman.
