Discussion: Britain Predicts Terrorist Attack 'Highly Likely' In Raising Threat Level

Discussion for article #227015

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that we should all be very, very suspicious and anticipate a false flag operation by MI5 terror attack similar to 07/07/05. Definitely not.

WTF? If you think 7/7 was a false flag then you missed the bus to crazy town.

“Severe” is the second-highest of five levels.

What’s highest level? “It’s no use…we’re all bloody dead!!”?

Also, it’s “May”, not “Mays.”

Seems like raising threat levels goes over really well with the conservative playbook, almost like fish and chips or bangers and mash. I know elections are less than a year away in May of 2015 in Britain, but its always a good move for politicians that like to claim their keeping the country safe, even if an imminent threat isn’t all that obvious. Hard to tell what’s political and what’s real anymore these days however. Sad too. Ever since the Bush years, its hard to trust most politicians with how they play the “terror on our own shores” kind of information.

Gilliam’s Brazil pretty much nails the English use of terrorism propaganda.

Part of the problem is people believe every god damn conspiracy theory they read on the Internet and some Journalists/Activists like it that way. A lot of the Arab media is convinced Obama intentionally created the Islamic State.

I think when seven percent of Brits have a favorable view of ISIS a little caution is in order.

If you examine the facts, including interviews with former MI5 agents, you might wonder, as I do. Of course, that claim can’t be proven beyond a doubt per legal court standards, but if former MI5 agents believe 7/7 was a false flag, who am I to argue?

P.s. if your only argument to counter my comment is just an ad hominem attack, then you really don’t have an argument, do you?

Link please?

Of course. It wouldn’t be very good conspiracy theory if it could be proven false, now would it?

I believe I can make one.

Do you also agree with Ron Paul that the US government had forewarning of 9/11? Do you also agree with the Arab media that Obama and Clinton conspired to create ISIS? What about the moon landing, faked or not?

Are you helpless? If you’re really interested (and not just being an malicious asshole), you can do your own research.

Then prove it false–I’m not saying that you can’t. Of course, do it after you’ve poured through all the available evidence, and are able to speak intelligently on the issue.

Go for it. But make it plausible.

How would the U.S. have even suspected something like that might happen?

Is that all you have? DJ, when did you become the self-appointed internet conspiracy cop/assholish online inquisitor? Is it your job to quash any mention of conspiracies on the internet?? Are you some kind of self-righteous UK uber-patriot? Do you actually believe Dick Cheney and Tony Blair? It’s interesting how you completely lose it and wildly attack me with the kind of bullying and ad hominem bashing that is the last refuge of the defeated and witless. And frankly, I’m disappointed. I had thought you were better than that.

You’re the one making the Alex Jones style, utterly outrageous claim, that a branch of the UK government carried out a false flag attack by, I assume, convincing four disaffected Muslim British citizens to blow themselves up killing dozens and wounding hundreds of their fellow countrymen and when I ask you for a simple link to this asinine theory you tell me that I should do my own research…and I’m the asshole?!

I was on the Metropolitan Line six stops from Liverpool Street Station on July 7 2005, so yeah, I’m a little sensitive about the subject. I find that fucking absurd conspiracy theory almost as offensive as your suggestion that I should waste my time researching it.

“Enough lies, the Arab body politic created the ISIS cancer”

Most people are averse to introspection, and rarely engage in self-criticism. Arabs are no different. However, the political culture that developed in the Arab World in the last 60 years, particularly in countries ruled by autocratic regimes, shifted blame from their catastrophic failures in governance to other external, sinister forces. For these countries, self-criticism has become next to impossible.

Over time, this legacy has created fertile terrain for conspiracy theories, delusions, self-deception, paranoia and xenophobia. If you read an Arab newspaper or many a website in the region, you will invariably encounter some of these symptoms. Admittedly, sometimes they can be entertaining, but in most cases they are downright ugly, reflecting deep pathologies of fear.

So you see, these conspiracy theories aren’t harmless. I can’t stop you from spreading that bullshit but I will take exception whenever I see it whether you like it or not.

You were never there:

You’re just pulling this stuff out of your ass because that’s all you have.

If you weren’t just a 7/7 shill, you could read this and give it due consideration:

Okay, then it’s on, and I will respond. You can count on it.
