Discussion: Brian Williams Very Politely Calls Out Mark Halperin's Trump Boosterism (VIDEO)

MSNBC’s Brian Williams questioned Mark Halperin Thursday night on his “interestingly optimistic” take on Donald Trump’s chances, asking where he was getting information that led him to believe the GOP nominee had such a viable shot at the presidency.

Pilates Class, every Wednesday night at Trump Tower.

Halperin is one of these people that has learned to fail upwards. How anyone thinks he’s worth the money they pay him, is a mystery to me. Mediocrity at its finest. Hell, he’s not even mediocre. He’s just plain lame…

Who was the best? Sarah Palin?

roasted.

The only real positive in the data, at least that I have seen with my limited capacity to look into such things (do not want to look too far into all the numbers) the polls indicate some tightening in some locations but Clinton leads everywhere that she needs to win or is important.

For the most part, a few places like NH are only close because some of the polls are a bit questionable. ARG for instance gave Trump a big lead there, that throws everything off right there.

One issues with aggregate sites is that they take everything into account. They have to in order to work but outliar polls can really throw things off depending on their modeling.

When thirty polls show a candidate is losing and a pundit wants to talk about the single one that does not you know somethings up. Scarborough does the same thing.

Thats a good take on that. She IS fascinating. The house is burning down around her and she is saying “is it cold in here?” I can’t wait to see the next project she gets involved with.

Halperin has always been a rightwing cheerleader! It’s been obvious for years, he’s not too bright, and sucked after Bush/Cheney until it should have been embarrassing for him, but not having a brain, he didn’t notice.

Or, as Bill Maher would say, “Caucasian, PLEASE…”

Halperin has his job and his status as a pundit because his father—Morton Halperin—was a Democratic go-to guy for decades. He also ran the Washington office for the ACLU for a number of years.

He’s been associated with the Brookings Institute, and now serves as a senior advisor to the Open Society Institute, founded by George Soros.

So without his dad’s pedigree, Li’l Marky would be flipping burgers in a McDonald’s somewhere.
Instead, he’s cluttering the airwaves with his disingenuous bullshit—he’s wrong almost as often as Bill Kristol, who is widely known as the stupidest pundit in the known universe.

it always makes me uncomfortable when I see a man totally lay down , belly up, for another man ,and on public display. HALPERIN does this every time he is onTV, I some times wonder what TRUMPf has going for him that would make another man do this for him.

Totally absorbing. I managed to get in three episodes before I got too tired, but watching Elizabeth learn of her father’s death while away from home reminded me of learning of my father’s death. My mother in NY called me, but I wasn’t home in SF, reached my husband who called me in Chicago, I flew home ASAP, arranged for dog sitter, picked up hubbie, flew to NY. And all the while I’m thinking I don’t believe this is happening.

Lithgow was great, not sure why they settled on him instead of a British actor, but you’d never know he wasn’t. More to come tonight.

I’ve been watching Brian Williams on his short show and with Rachel this election cycle and really enjoy him. I think since his fall from grace, he’s dropped his pretenses and is now simply allowing himself to be himself. He’s insightful, smart, telling it straight and pretty damned funny. Just look at how often he cracks up Rachel. He seems to have a freedom he didn’t accept before. And Halperin is a “target rich environment” as they say, as he’s been so favorable for Trump that he’s lost any credibility he may have had. He’s also demonstrated that he’s not that smart. I loved watching his facial expression change from plum to prune during Williams’ question. It was priceless.

You forgot to mute Jeff Lord.

And that’s why she lives in a 5 or 7 or whatever it is million dollar house in a NYC suburb. It’s just pure soulless (actually that’s redundant) PR. She is fascinating, if predicable in form.

I don’t put any gay or political stuff on my car because cops. Don’t really want to invite a traffic stop. I have a AAA and a I heart Osterreich sticker though. Hoping they think it’s just something alt-right.

And why does MSNBC hire these guys? I can only guess it’s to present the fiction of “balance”.

I’ve had an Obama sticker since '08, never had a problem. Could be because the first European settlers in my area were Quakers and they left their DNA in the local culture. They’re tolerant, to the point of being exasperating, but they wouldn’t key your car if you had a Hitler sticker on it.

And with that, Brian Williams is slowly earning his way back to “respected” journalist.

Even before he was outed as a liar, he wasn’t a respected journalist. He is a pretty boy, with an knack for ingratiating himself with shallow people, including network news execs
