Discussion: BREAKING: Senate Vote Puts Brett Kavanaugh On Verge Of Confirmation

He believes it is what he should do for his own political interest. It’s not a matter of ideology with him.

You mean you’re going to boof?

I just hate that then the vote will be considered bipartisan

“Coat Hanger Collins” and “Rapey-J Flake” are hardly sobriquets any decent human being would want.

Not so fast bitches!

The American Bar Association, in a letter just sent to the Senate, says that it is re-opening its evaluation of Kavanaugh following “new information of a material nature regarding temperament during the September 27 hearing,” according to Bloomberg.

Is there a Democrat running a write-in campaign in WV who we can donate money to today?

Even Doug Jones in Alabama voted no.

Is there any way Collins is going to pirouette in the spotlight this afternoon to announce a “no”? Because if she does, the Republicans are probably going to hold her hostage and submit her to a Clockwork Orange-style re-education between now and tomorrow.

I hope like hell she’ll do the right thing, but that’s usually a vain hope indeed.

Aaaaaaaaaand, fuck Joe Manchin.

What in Hades could it mean?

He has a frigging10 point lead. This was not an inconsequential vote.

Ummmm, I don’t know, maybe disbarment!

Got no clue really, but it is a nasty dingleberry at this late stage of events.

She’s an obvious spotlight hog. See how important she is? See the anguish she’s causing everyone. See what a woman hater she is.

If there is some point to having Joe Manchin in the Senate as opposed to someone with an “R” next to his or her name, then I am unable to see that point. If a vote to deny confirmation to a man to sit on the Supreme Court for the next 30 years who is far to the right, nakedly partisan and very likely guilty of sexual assault is not more important than Manchin’s short term political prospects in West Virginia, I can’t imagine what is. I am sick and tired of Manchin’s cowardice.

Hadn’t thought of disbarment! Not that it would stop this GOP…

I think we are dreaming now

It actually used to be pretty common back in the days of the filibuster. It’s pointless today.
