Letās be sure to compare Petraeusā jail sentence with that of J. Kirakou, the only guy convicted within the context of CIA Torture. Recall: he talked about it, but didnāt do it. Very Orwellian that.

Petraeus will serve no time. Hell, he is even going to keep the lie going that the affair didnāt start till after he was out of the military. (because if he admits that it was going on while he was still in uniform, that opens up a nasty violation of military codeā¦but by all accounts I have read they were definitely ābunk buddiesā in Afghanistan together)

Martha Stewart spent 6 months in federal prison for lying to federal prosecutors in a much less consequential case. It will be interesting to see what happens here.

Petraeus is a complete fucking fraud. He wants to be career soldier but instead of seeing service in Vietnam (1970) he decides on going to West Point first - then Vietnam - when the war is over. And thatās been his legacy.

The article says he let her keep the āblack booksā even after he left the DOD (he retired on Aug 31,2011). He gave her the Black Books on the 28th. So if he gave her the books on the 28th and retired on the 31st, was he in the military when he gave them to her?

I do agree, but wanted to point out the inevitable hypocrisy of our triple-tiered justice system. Top Tier: Unaccountable Elites within the Circle of Influence never do time. Objectively he put secret CIA info out into public arenas where it didnāt belong, just like Kirakou. But he didnāt offend important people enough. The Mil/Ind Complex will cosset him forever.
