Discussion: Breaking: Oregon Sheriff To Hold Meeting With Armed Refuge Militia

Discussion for article #244408

How polite!

I hope, the next time I take a hostage, they’re that understanding with me.

Never mind what’s going on at The Swamp. Josh. What’s the latest on Oshaugnessy and Booda Bear? Did Captain O really take donation money and use it to get drunk in a motel? And was Ritzheimer so pissed about it that he grew to where he could actually drive without having to sit on a phone book?

Did Mr, Bear really run off after a newspaper proved he lied about being in the Marines?

Last night at The Swamp

Founding fathers went after John Brown at Harper’s Ferry with unbeatable force. Bundy, as a right wing “oringinalist”, should support the same.

Not for nothing, but the United States bought all that land from France, and owned it all. They gave it away to ranchers and settlers for nothing or next to nothing, and still that’s not enough for these folks. They want more, more, more.

If it prevents bloodshed and a rallying cry for the entire militia movement, why not?

Because if these clowns are allowed to head for home without having to face criminal charges, it simply guarantees that there will be another such incident whenever their feelings are hurt.

I don’t care about providing the militia movement with “a rallying cry.” This movement needs to be taught some lessons about the rule of law. Now.

The sheriff might not bring charges, but the Feds might and probably will. By the way, since the Bundy gang haven’t used their weapons, I’m guessing they could be charged with trespass and making threats with their various grandiose statements. I think the worst punishment for them personally is the lack of support that other militia groups have shown them. Bundy’s not getting much respect from them. Even his own father doesn’t support what he’s doing.

What’s wrong with me? How come I don’t have the kind of life where I can shirk my responsibilities to my family, my job, and to my friends to go off and fulfill some childlike fantasy playing a character out of some John Wayne movie.

No, the worst punishment would be a felony conviction that would bar them from owning guns.

Hope the sheriff brings them a copy of this:

You’re an adult! Unlike Ammon Bundy, who got a taste of the limelight when his father was in the news and likely found all the pats on the back from those action-movie-tough-guy militia types addictive.

I said “the worst punishment personally.” He’s being humiliated by well-known, organized militia guys. I’m betting this hurts more than a felony conviction from the government, which in his world (and his fantasies) would be a badge of honor.

a) chances are good you work for a paycheck that keeps a roof over your head
b) you care if your family has a roof to shelter under and food to eat, maybe some new shoes every now and then
c) you have actual friends vs just “friends” on the internet
d) you have a decent sex life so you don’t have to get it on with guns and don’t blame your shortcomings on “others”
e) you’re not paranoid and angry to the point of dysfunction

All in all, this is good. It makes you a contributing member of society. Go for it

Reuters is saying Bundy rejected the sheriff’s offer to escort the fellas out of the state because the sheriff had “not addressed their grievances.” They still think the feds will turn over their land holdings to local authorities. I suppose that belief pretty much speaks for itself.

Indeed. As if there were any doubt, these boys are dumber than dirt.

I guess maybe Cliven’s going to have to grab junior by his ear and march him out the door. He’s embarrassing the family.

OMG! I don’t care so much I’m shaking!

For the last weel, I have had a big jumping spider hiding in the door of my microwave oven. He has been using the shielding on the little window to protect himself from the deadly waves.

I have named him ‘MisterNeutron.’

Remember, he’s the most dangerous and terrifying spider in the world!
