Discussion for article #224899
“the boy’s grandmother, who had been driving, said she had no idea there had been an accident.”
Nice awareness!
Man, it’s like people are jumpy about guns. The people who thought there was a firearm aimed at them should have felt safer.
Losers need to get on script!
It takes a good guy with an Airsoft gun to stop a bad guy with an Airsoft gun. Or something like that.
“…the the gun the woman saw was actually an Airsoft pellet gun, which is a toy.”
WRONG. With 400-500fps muzzle velocity, it is NOT A TOY!
Sorry for the shout, but that’s part of what’s wrong with the gun culture in America. Guns should never be equated with toys. EVER.
Back in my day, a BB gun could only take out your own eye. But nowadays, a three car collision! Impressive, young master.
Because in America, you have to act like every gun is real, no matter the situation.
It’s just one of the perks!
My wife, who has one of those doctorate degrees in psychology and works at one of those big university things, would beg to differ.
Like anything else, if you keep something from kids it becomes more alluring. Studies back this up with toy guns.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A14367-2004Oct31.html
“Nonpowder guns kill an average of four Americans yearly, and from 1990 to 2000, there were 39 such deaths – 32 of children younger than 15, according to the report in November’s issue of Pediatrics.”
Great way to absolve parents from actually parenting.
So what? we should “inoculate” kids with toy guns, toy parachutes, toy cocaine? Some things you just gotta suck it up and wait until you are an adult. Unless you have morons for parents.
kids having toy guns isn’t near as bad as adults treating real guns as toys.
I’d like to see the stats on injuries from those toys.
But this incident wasn’t about a “toy gun” at all.
“They are often thought of as toys, but BB guns and other nonpowder guns are sometimes lethal and injure as many as 21,000 Americans each year, according to a new report.”
From the same 2004 WP article.
The one who caused the accident is the moron who was following too closely the lady who stomped on the brakes, not the boy with a toy gun. She could have brake for a deer or a child crossing the road and the end result would be the same.
It wasn’t a toy, Jar Jar. In addition to your usual mindless drivel, apparently, you have never actually driven a vehicle either.
Responding to idiots like him just encourages him to post more vapid comments, so please don’t bother. And I know I’ve been guilty of feeding him in the past but not any more.
^^ moron not following too closely ^^
