Well, what do you expect him to do? Say… “Fair enough!” Of course he’s going to exhaust every avenue available to him for appeal and to delay his sentence being carried out. That’s why death penalty cases are so expensive. You have nothing to lose.
And any actions we take to streamline and speed up the process just increases the odds that we’ll put more innocent people to death. So this is basically the system that we’re stuck with as long as we’re going to impose the death penalty.
