Discussion: Boko Haram Forces 800,000 Children From Homes, Uses Them As 'Weapons'

Discussion for article #235239

It’s clear that Nigeria doesn’t have anything that American corporations want badly enough, else we’d be invading to “bring them freedom.”

Because of that unfortunate reality this situation will continue unabated, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will ever be, world without end.

There will be a special place in hell for those that see this suffering, can do something about it, and do nothing. The shame and rage I feel is only matched by my impotence and inability to do anything to help remedy this great tragedy. But I vote, and I will listen to what my elected leaders have to say about this.

NIgeria is a major oil supplier. The real problem is that this is what happens to countries whose military acts like a political party rather than a military. Even after democracy is restored, the military ends up tits-on-a-boar useless for fighting and the lasting legacy of how bad militaries are at governing generate movements in desperate need of fighting.

Horrific :frowning:
