Discussion: Boehner: Obama Is 'Damaging The Presidency' With Executive Action

Discussion for article #230430

“I will say to you, that the House will in fact act,”

…in a way that deliberately damages the presidency and then try to blame it on Obama.

¨(D)amaging the Presidency… sabotaging chance(s)…¨

Well, I guess Boehner does have some expertise in these areas…

A Republican promise to rescind Obama’s executive order on immigration will become an issue in the next Presidential election unless the House passes an immigration bill.

No, Boehner, you see this is what’s called “getting work done.” I know that’s a foreign concept in the Republican-controlled House and Republican-stalled Senate, but it is a thing that exists and it’s something that the government used to do.

“I will say to you, that the House will in fact act,” he said.
By “act” he means complain, do press conferences looking peeved, and come up with more variations on the word “tyrant” before finally the issue disappears into the ether with no actual real action to show for it.

Obama is actually strengthening the presidency by demonstrating it has the power to act in spite of being obstructed by congress.

Unbelievable. He has a immigration bill that was passed over 500 days ago just waiting for a vote in the House. But, Boehner doesn’t bring it up because it will pass. I can’t even listen to these people anymore. They damage our country and then blame it on the president. But, they get away with it because of the clueless Fox/cable news watching sheep who believe anything that comes out of their lying mouths.

Exactly. The president acts because Congress refuses to, and Boehner pretends they were going to do anything on immigration. It’s disgusting. Even more disgusting is that they get away with it.

This from the leader of an institution that is less popular than a colonoscopy.

You’ve got that right. They had the perfect opportunity to act on a Senate Bill passed nearly two years ago. Yet, Boehner won’t bring it to a vote because it would pass with bipartisan support. I don’t know how these GOP Congressmen look at themselves in the mirror in the morning.

Act like petulant, sophist, racists that they are.
No doubt Baggers intend to act.
What they won’t do is productive work.

Like Orange Jonnie here has any concern for the health of the Presidency.

But, because of apathy we keep voting in the party that is less popular than a colonoscopy. It’s just depressing that we just handed them the majority of the Senate and the House. Now they can drive the country over the cliff. It’s going to get ugly.

LIAR
Fuck you Boehner

Not just Fox.
Almost all MSM media are culpable for this ‘blame the POTUS for any and everything’ meme.
It’s all about (R) dark advertising monies/revenues.

If an outlet reports critically about (R)s or their policy-- apologies are soon to follow.
Never with a (D).

Yet another aspect of propaganda messaging bought and paid for with funneled cash.

Well, that should alienate a significant percentage of the population, and the House won’t pass anything. They’ve been sitting on a bill passed by the Senate (and that vote wasn’t even close) for over 500 days. Why would anyone believe the House would want to pass an immigration bill when they won’t even take a vote on the one sitting on Boehner’s desk?

Isn’t that what they’ve been doing from the start?

I mean…the GOP has been handing Republican Presidents nearly unlimited power, but the second that a Democrat gets into office it’s a war to stop them from actually doing what the GOP let them do.
