Discussion: Boehner: I Haven't Talked To Ted Cruz Since He Got Elected

What if Cruz simply considers everyone in Washington his inferior to the point that he doesn’t have to bother talking to them, forming friendships and alliances, all that stuff lesser mortals need to do? He just might be that narcissistic and nuts.

It doesn’t matter. He is so far behind the 8 ball that his campaign would be hamstrung every step of the way. Donations (the TP groups are all hurting financially, some on the verge of bankruptcy), staffing, endorsements…and that’s before we even get to all the various rulings the party will make over the course of the nomination process, everyone which will go against him.

And while he does fire up the TP part of the base, he leaves what is left of the party ice cold, and has even less draw with independents.

Cruz is still aiming for Texas down the road, and is just going to spend his time in the Senate rabble rousing to keep his name recognition high. The tea partiers would have had to pull a massive sweep of the primaries for him to consider throwing his hat in the ring. And that didn’t even come close to happening.

That does cover a great deal of Boehner’s conscious hours, I agree. But its not like Cruz has ever been trying to keep his activities hidden. The Cruz Cantina meetings were well known and publicized in the media for one example.
