Are we beginning to see the firstfruits of the trump disaster unfolding before our very eyes?

Not to mention the Ogallala aquifer. This spill sounds like it would be pretty close. But really, who could have foreseen that their would have been a problem with sending trainloads of tar sands sludge through the plains?

“It plans to drain and clean its wells and use a rural water system until testing shows its water is safe.”

That water’s not very reliable either, these days…

Maybe they can buy some unused water from Flint?

All true it seems. Another great reason to have a strong EPA and associated environmental NGO’s to press for safety and sane and sensible protections. But sadly, the fascist movement is succeeding, and we the people are really up against it. The majority that we think we are MUST flip the House, and that may well be insufficient. It’s not even slightly funny nor time for simple sarcasm. Smile and stay focused, yes, but let’s get what needs to be done done.

That’s the anticipated clean-up plan: Everyone take a couple rolls of paper towels, soak up the sludge with them, and transport their towels home to be disposed of discreetly in their curbside trash. That way, there won’t be any hit to the tax base that is nonexistent so everyone can buy a candy bar once a week.

The tag team duo of Stephen Miller and Jared Kushner will be right on this…as soon as they finish drowning their allotment of kittens.

Didn’t the Dumpters sign an executive order ?

After Flynt, it’s obvious the government under Trump don’t give a damn.

Hey, there are no standards for bottled water. They just fill it up at the tap and sell it. So yeah, Iowans, pay more money to Coke & Pepsi to get unsafe water!

Decent response.

The core problem is at the top.

No worries! Trump will put his “Environmental Watchdog” [TM] SCOTT PRUITT on it.

–> EVERYONE knows Pruitt is on a “Jihad” for Clean Water, right? I mean, when he’s not grifting.

“Pruitt made himself the final authority on decisions surrounding the jurisdiction of the Clean Water Act… Pruitt has made himself the final judge in one of the most controversial aspects of the Clean Water Act: deciding what waters fall under federal jurisdiction. The move also positions Pruitt to dismantle the Clean Water Rule…”

[Hmm do you know how many communities pull thier water from the Missouri River?]

–> “The Missouri River is Kansas City’s drinking water source. It’s quite a process to turn the Big Muddy into tap water. The Missouri River is perhaps the third muddiest river in the world, O’Donnell said, after the Colorado and the Nile. As many as TEN MILLION PEOPLE get their drinking water from the Missouri River.”

Wow, I was thinking that they’d use it as an excuse to push the pipelines (No Derailments!!!) but you, sir/madam, have definitely, um, Trumped me today. Well played!

When I attended the University of Iowa, the local water was called the Iowa City Cocktail, and most people wouldn’t drink it. The water was drawn from the Iowa River, and people didn’t want to imagine what was entering the river from the many pig farms upstream, and how many chemicals were being added to purify it. The tap water tasted nasty, so most people bought the bottled stuff.
