Discussion: Blunt Apologizes For GOP Debate Joke After Fox Hosts Tell Her To Leave Calif

If Sicario were a Fox release, F&F and the whole Faux machine would give her a pass. And don’t think Fox Studios will hesitate to hire Blunt in future if the execs thinks they can make a buck off her.

And this is what the MegaMinds at Fox spend time getting upset about and discussing?

Actually, she made a pretty funny joke! If conservatives weren’t made of the thinnest, most perishable glass, they might have laughed too. Tools.

Hmmm…who else is an immigrant at Fox?

Oh! The guy that owns the place who is married to a Chinese immigrant!

She deserves all the derision she gets. The remark was not anti-Republican it was Anti-American and the kind of quip from Europeans ( I am an American reared in the Netherlands and you will not catch me dissing this place ever ) and other foreign assholes that should take Doocy’s advice. America has given this women opportunity and wealth. And she’s not stupid. As they say in Great Britain to foreigners that are not happy there…" there are boats and planes leaving everyday "

She makes me ashamed to be a European.

Yeah, divorced. She got his money and ran like hell. I imagine his kids are relieved.

Huh…and here I thought that political free speech was the highest form of protected free speech in the AMERICAN Constitution.

“You know what Emily Blunt just did? She just Dixie Chicked herself. She
has alienated half the country, and now we’ll think twice about going
to one of her movies,” Doocy said on Tuesday.

Steve, well over half the country couldn’t care less about your network. Saying half the country was alienated…that’s a considerable stretch.

Well, hold on now. It’s not like she’s a corporation or anything.

“My mother, drunk or sober” can only truly apply if one is native-born, right? Choosing to become a citizen is a compliment; not a requirement. Ms. Blunt has every right to question her own judgement. She’s sane. I hope she stays.

And of course what a regular person, even a movie star, says is so much more important and substantive than the content of what comes out of the mouths of actual officials or candidates.

A third of us already live in the world of Idiocracy and they have their own media.

She ought to be. Any actor/actress making big bucks should definitely incorporate themselves for tax purposes if nothing else :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

She is not a fool, and she did not apologize for telling the truth. She apologized that her words upset some people, which is something that can easily happen when speaking off the cuff.

No one said she doesn’t have a right to run her mouth. We all have that right. But that Constitution you and your GOP’er friends like to drag into every conversation doesn’t require anyone to like what you say. Nor was her remark "political’…it was arrogant European ( I know about this dude ) uncalled for and a spit in the face to a country that has offered her the best it has.

Try this buddy…go to Oxford Circus and hop into a Pub. Start yakking about how glad you are the Colonists ousted the British in the 1780’s. They call that being an ugly American. Ms. Blunt provides us the ugly European variant.

What “truth” was that?

goes to commit suicide…

I don’t think he’s ever had the experience of thinking…once

The word “truth” didn’t come from me the comment before. I think in context, that vlharpley meant that Blunt’s description of the Republicans as so embarrassing that she regretted becoming an American was “truth”.

Right. If she thinks she is stupider for having watched the debate, she should try watching 5 minutes of Fox & Friends, then check and see if she is able to calculate exactly how long 5 minutes is afterwards.
