Hey Gates, did you see this? How about diverting a little money from your quest to save Africa and spend a bit to save your own country? Warren? WAKE UP Warren!
The Gates Foundation donates money to the poorest of African countries which have no clean water and infant mortality is high. The foundation’s primary goal is this. But there’s a saying in Hebrew which is Whoever saves one life saves the world entire, a loftier goal than financing political campaigns.
The primary aims of the foundation are, globally, to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty, and the US, to expand educational opportunities and access to information technology.
Let’s all give 100 million dollars to the cause!
Bloomberg has an estimated wealth of 50 billion dollars, (50 with nine zeros after it). After his 100 million dollar gift he will still have 49,900 million dollars. His decision is like someone with 50 thousand dollars giving one hundred dollars or someone with 5,000 dollars giving 10 bucks.
Bernie showed us how to make the difference ten bucks or a hundred bucks at a time. Why let the billionaires have all the fun?
He’s got enough to do both.
The Gates Foundation contributed $25,000. during the 2018 election cycle, seems like it was all to Dems but $25. here and $1,000. there is inexplicable.
$20 million? Jeez, thank you. Thank you. Thank you a thousand times.
Good. We need all the help we can get. There is certainly no shortage of money coming in for the GOPers.
Better send some to NJ for Bob Menendez - maybe to distribute clothespins … so NJ voter can hold their nose & vote for Bob
… so that Egomaniac Huggin (who is wildly spending to saturate the media) does not get visited upon us and the nation for 6 years …
The work the Gates Foundation does in Africa is mostly duplicating work done by other organizations. He’d get more bang for his buck helping to fund existing efforts rather than creating parallel groups.
Further, Gates wasted millions meddling with local public education in Washington State with “innovations” when the root of all public school failures is poverty and not gee whiz shit in the classroom.
He’s got enough money to fund his projects in Africa AND help maintain democracy in America.
Only Gates knows why he gives when and where he does. These days I’m thinking more about Bezos (richest person in the world) who’s showing he’s more human that we realized, with some prodding from Bernie. What Bezos has done here may have a ripple effect.
