And… instead of calling 911, she’s FBing? I know some people are addicted to tweeting every event, but… “gas leaking” and she stops to inform her facebook friends about it?
Then again, apparently the man really is dead, so who knows. Maybe the truck really did turn over and she got out and started tweeting as he died in front of her.

Seat belt manufacturers?

Anthony Hervey, 49, was described by the newspaper as an "fixture for the last two decades" in Oxford, Miss.

At first, I thought this sentence contained a grammatical error that was placed there by mistake. Then I realized that the sentence came from an article in a Mississippi newspaper, and was likely written by someone who received a Mississippi education.

Noted.

Why isn’t our children learning?

Maybe they were trying to sound biblical.

You may have pinpointed the cause of the accident.

“God” works in mysterious ways… just sayin’…

The Mississippi paper isn’t responsible for an “fixture.” That’s all on TPM.

To be clearer, I should have said that the Mississippi paper isn’t responsible for “an ‘fixture.’” That’s all on TPM. Presumably, only the part in quotation marks came from the Mississippi newspaper.

“Why I Wave the Confederate Flag, Written by a Black Man: The End of Niggerism and the Welfare State.”

I was gonna say - who the hell would ever use Twitter while pinned in an upside-down car with a gas leak? Facebook is clearly the correct tool in that situation.

Puh-lease. No one should have to call 911 themselves.Truly trending Facebook users let their FANS handle the emergency calls. That’s how you know you have a big audience. #internetfamousbutbleedinginternally

The quotation from the Clarion-Ledger that TPM mangled refers to “an Oxford fixture.”

re: written by someone who received a Mississippi education

You mean like

William Faulkner, Eudora Welty, Richard Wright, Shelby Foote, John Grisham, Walker Percy, or Tennessee Williams?

did she say anything about what she meant in her tweets?

Seriously ? ?

Humm, that’s like the Jews manufacturing the gas for the Nazi’s. But I guess he won’t be waving that flag anymore. Looks like the universe settled the balance a bit more.

From George W. Bush on January 11, 2000, in a speech about education, “Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?”

That’s what Meri is referencing. Seriously.
