Discussion: Bill O'Reilly On Explosive Gawker Report: 'All Allegations... Are 100% False'

I am certain he would claim that his daughter was co-erced by the mom.

Hey ! What’s he doin’ with O’Bummer’s teleprompter ? Add grand theft to the allegations !

The divorce rate of white people is contributing to the breakdown of civil society. These people are out of control, and it’s clearly the fault of the rap musicians, not the conservatives themselves who seemingly love to adulterate, faloofalize, and divorce. (Remember that Newt did his stuff because he loved America so much. Limbaugh? I think he’s probably a gay drug addict.)

The man is a rage-aholic bully, and he’s known to have been completely full of shit in a few instances. But even if we give him the benefit of the doubt until further evidence comes forth, I can’t help but laugh at bit at O’Reilly having to squirm a little at being subject to his and his networks very own hit-piece tactics:

[In a self-righteous, smug voice] Soooooooooome people are saying that Bill O’Reilly is an abusive wife-beater accused of half-strangling is ex-wife and dragging her down the stairs. Which brings us to our final segment of the show.

[“Talking points” screen slides in from the right]:

  • We know Bill O’Reilly has an anger problem and isn’t always known to be such a calm man
  • These accusations are being made by his own daughter. Why would she lie about this?
  • Bill has lied in the past about reporting in various war zones. What makes us think he’s telling the truth now?
  • If you disagree that Bill O’Reilly is likely an abusive wife beater who likes to drag women around by the neck, you’re probably a pinhead. Why would you want to be a pinhead? Pinhead!

We report, you decide!

The best way “to protect my children” is not to get divorced. Just saying.

Assuming mom got custody, I’d say the divorce probably made his children safer.

Because articles based wholly on anonymous sources have never, ever been false.

Note it’s not such much Gawker is wrong, or Gawker’s got the facts wrong, as it is that “all [Gawker’s] allegations are wrong”, emphasis on “allegations”.

Gawker’s story doesn’t actually allege anything. It points to the existence of a court proceeding and what’s stated in various filings in that. Some of what’s filed in that proceeding contained allegations, but Gawker reports on them accurately as existing and as allegations, and leaves it to the reader to draw conclusionsas to what of them may be true if anything.

So, BillO is correct is a bizarre way, that 100% of nothing is false. It’s pointless, but then everything about BillO has been pointless for many many years.

I am with you. To recap:

  1. We have an article by Gawker;
  2. based on an anonymous source who is purportedly in the know;
  3. who claims Bill O was accused of spousal abuse in a divorce case but that such information is confidential;
  4. as far as we know, there was never any significant proof in the case of the allegations; and
  5. Bill O was never arrested let alone prosecuted for the alleged conduct.

As much as I despise Bill O, and as much as I suspect he would be capable of doing what was alleged, I don’t think I could make the multiple leaps necessary to conclude that Bill O actually did the supposedly alleged conduct.

And yet your children were taken away from you BillO. What does that tell us? If you were such a paragon of virtue and good parenting, would the courts award your ex-wife custody of your children?

I’m sure they’re ALL glad to get away from you because you are obviously a monster.

and billious is still mum about the reported loofah milions he paid in his settlement with andrea mackris

My sentiments exactly!

Actually, he was busy badgering Obama with Squeal Team Fox.

Shut up, wife-beater.

Between Bill-O and an anonymous source, the anonymous source wins every time.

I can’t say for sure if he did or not. He certainly seems capable. I certainly don’t trust his word on it. I believe it could have happened but none of us really know.

Him losing custody doesn’t tell us anything though. While men generally fair better than women in the gender bias game, divorce and child custody are two areas where men get the shit end of the stick.

Lucky he did not take off his belt to beat her. Then his pants would be sagging and she could shout “Pull your pants up!”

Enjoy your schadenfreude, I guess. It sure does get the dopamine flowing!

I’ll try to stick to giving everyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to anonymous, single-sourced muckraking.

Stuff like this never, ever leads to real-world consequences (cough UVA)

Bill-O has a history of having trouble telling reality from fantasy. So there are two highly dubious sources… one of which I know lies much of the time and one of which lies sometimes.

Joint custody is the norm in this country and so I’m going to go with anonymous.
