I’ve been listening but think I misread your comment of “…I am beginning to take Trump seriously” as meaning you thought he was making sense. No doubt he has the support of a lot of republicans and could win a lot of their votes, because he says what they say when they aren’t worried about being politically correct. And as you say he’s an asshole and republicans tend to like assholes.
I am not saying he makes sense, but he is coming across as authentic. Authentic is in short supply this season. All 16 of the other Republican candidates are simply sock puppets for some billionaire or other. None of them is his own man or woman. That need for authenticity maybe what is going on with Sanders as well. He is obviously his own man. Hillary will win in a walk if she can convince people she is her own woman and not a puppet for unnamed hedge fund managers.
