Discussion: Bill De Blasio's Hometown Paper Laughs At His Presidential Announcement

Isn’t NYP conservative? Isn’t it normal to laugh at any Democrat?

Yep, the Post (AKA the paper for people who move their lips when they read) is a Murdoch rag.

When you’ve lost the New York Post…

The Post is a rag. But DeBlasio’s candidacy is a joke.

True, but the Post has hated DeBlasio forever.

Seriously TPM, are we now giving Murdoch’s hateful rag this treatment? This very same New York Post?

I once placed a copy of the New York Post in the bottom of my Parrot’s cage.

He looked at me and said: “That would be redundant.”

OTOH: We all laughed at De Blasio’s announcement too. Can you say: “Hubris”?

Why is this even news? Who cares what the Post does? If de Blasio’s candidacy is to be laughed at, do it directly, not vicariously through some Murdoch screed. Have some dignity.

ETA And If De Blasio’s candidacy is a joke, then again, so is the manner in which we elect presidents.

I really hate that DeBlasio has me on the same side as the Post.

His candidacy is truly a joke.

Mayor Bill De Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaahzio. Sure. Why not? So, without further ado, I announce that Ken in MN will NOT be running for president, and that I will refuse to serve if elected. Now please clap…

“Rupert Murdoch’s NY Post.”
Context, people. Context.

Wrong-way Bill? Wow, he needs to re-up his DL and learn to read signs:

I gotta say, TPM deserves a thorough “go fuck yourselves” for even printing this slop. The Post is a rabid partisan conservative trash rag that doesn’t deserve the free distribution of its tribalist anti-Dem/liberal vitriol.

That being said, I really can’t fathom WTF DeBlasio is thinking. “Ill-advised” doesn’t even begin to describe this.

Bill DeBlasio is being dismissed out of the gate so badly by the MSM I thought the press believed he was a female candidate. Honestly, he has a better claim to run that Steve Bullock. Who knows? He might add value to this debate.

I don’t really have an opinion about De Blasio, but if you’re gonna be the 10,000th Democrat to run for president, how about something like “I am going to run all the goddamned Nazis and criminals from the government that the GOP has welcomed” as your out-of-the-gate message? Would be different, that’s for sure.

this is true. even with only 42% approval of New York’s 8.6 million people, that’s more than three million pro-DiBlasio folks.

Montana has a population of 1.062 million total. Bullock could have a 300% approval rating, and still have fewer people approving him than DiBlasio.

This sums it up (from the film “Top Secret!”):

DeBlasio’s a Democrat. The NY Post was never his to lose.

But the New York tabloid doesn’t seem to be taking the bid too seriously.

Is anybody?
