Dude, terrible pic of me, pls delete.
So Giuliana shoots himself in the foot, as does Trump. I find Biden’s comment appropriately condescending to them both. It was pretty damn inappropriate but at this point I can appreciate Biden not working himself up in a lather. There are just so many things about which to work oneself in a lather.
I know there’s frustration with Joe’s front-runner status. I think Biden isn’t necessarily stuck in his political positions from the last century. He’ll adopt some of the progressive positions being pushed by that wing of the party because that’s where the energy is. But bear in mind, another big reason the Democrats took the House was about turning swing districts. So while I’m delighted have AOC pulling the party back from right-of-center, we have folks like Mikie Sherrill and Tom Malinowski (two of my nearby NJ reps) who stepped into long-time Republican strongholds and turned them blue. Going to take a team effort. Joe isn’t my first choice, but I like him, will campaign for him if he gets the nomination.
Dems are 0-2 with nominees who voted for the Iraq War. Let’s not go 0-3.
Honestly, if you were 19/20/21 years old, would you find Joe Biden inspiring? Dammit, I feel like we already went down this road with John Kerry in 2004! Let’s look for the off-ramp before it’s too late!
Milquetoast. If he had the moxie to be president, Biden would be calling for a congressional investigation of Guliani. We need someone who can call for such investigations, but not sound all sanctimonious about it when they do so. Please, a leader needs to come forward, not the least objectionable like Biden. Screw the party and especially their no-nothing, fat cat consultants. Find some people at the base who have a clue and some nads to get something going here.
I guess we just disagree. I’ll be happy to have a different opinion later, but right now, the other candidates have not moved out of their very narrowly focused, overly ambitious (meaning, not implementable in the practical near term, e.g., Medicare for All) agendas. Being visionary and appealing to moral aspirations is fine and wonderful, but we are essentially at war in this country; we have to take the field and destroy the tide of fascism first. Biden is focused on that, IMV.
