A few more years of Rethuglican rule, and your kids will be your only option for your old age pension.
Thatās OK, my only child is a patent attorney with a full portfolio of southeast Asia technology accounts. He has trouble just figuring out where to stash all the money.
Think we can do without Biden handing Fox the dayās GOP talking points.
Ahem
PM me, letās do lunchā¦
Iām reading all these negative comments about Joe Biden. I think all of them are exactly right. Letās trash the person most obviously qualified to be president, so we can elect Trump. After all, if we are good at anything, itās trashing a highly qualified Democratic candidate so we can undercut that candidateās campaign and elect Trump. We were so successful at doing that in 2016, we managed to get Trump elected even though the American people rejected him by 3 million votes. Surely, if we did that once, we (with apologies to the great Ernie Banks), can do it twice.
Youāll read the same comments from the same commenters after every TPM article concerning Joe Biden. Bless their hearts.
Reparations and Medicare for All should just about do it.
Whatever, Joe
If Bidenās candidacy canāt make it past the comments section he stands very little chance in a primary battle.
At the time I was in Vienna for a series of meetings. I missed an entire afternoon of said meetings when the hearing came up on television. The Republicans on the panel were bad enough ā Orrin Hatch and Arlen Specter, for example ā but Joe Biden should have known better. Blaming āWhite Manās Cultureā is a cop-out, an attempt to disguise the cozy deal he made with Bush and the Republicans.
No he didnāt. He said he wished there was a way he could have arranged it better but there wasnāt. This is a lie. He valued his ill thought out gym pledge to Republican buddy to conduct a speedy hearing more than he valued the welfare of the country and providing a fair hearing to Anita Hill. Heās the guy whom refused to call the witnesses who has similar stories to tell.
Nobody that age Is the most obviously qualified person. Age is a hazard.
This is a guy who failed to make it through the primaries before. It does not follow that he is a dead certain to win the general.
Little late, Joe, for those of us who watched the hearings.
You are carrying more baggage than all the rest of our candidates put together. But that follows for someone who has been running since 1980.
Go home and spend time with your wife and your kids.
Funny about that, he leads all the polls, both among Democrats and in a general election matchup against Trump. I do agree with you that he will need to fight for the nomination and he may not succeed. Thatās fine.
But hereās a cautionary note. Iām old enough to remember a similar circumstance in 1972, when Nixon was vulnerable and the Democrats had a great opponent to nominate to go against him, Ed Muskie. Instead of running him, however, they ran him out of the race because he allowed tears (or was it snowflakes) to show on his cheeks making a speech in snowy New Hampshire where he defended his wife against scurrilous attacks on her. The Democrats went on to nominate an incredibly decent human being - for whom I voted - George McGovern, who was easily painted as being too far left. As I recall, he lost in an historic landslide to a crook seeking re-election, Richard Nixon. But us old guys who remember history just donāt cut it with the new, totally self-assured generation of Democrats who are better at social media than in the voting booth. Just saying.
ok.
Mostly itās us women. Bless your heart for not getting it.
Wonāt be easy for them to paint VP Biden as ābeing too far leftā but theyāre gonna try to no matter who we nominate.
Making the obvious point here: This early, polls mean nothing, because itās mostly name recognition. Very few people who arenāt political nerds know who the hell āHarrisā or āBetoā or āButtigiegā are, let alone the names that are getting less media attention. That will change.
I have forgiveness in my heart and Iām 60 years old. Thereās no room for 28 year old resentments in my life.
I have yet to meet many self-assured Democrats
