Discussion: BIBI WATCH: Conservatives Fall All Over Netanyahu After Speech

Foreign policy advice from the likes of Hannity and Limbaugh; the duo lacking any higher level education experience. I am sure if you asked them when the Munich conference took place, the original agenda, who attended (to include all the major participants) you would just get blank stares. Actually if you asked them where the Munich conference took place I’m not sure they could even get that right.

“You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they’ve tried everything else.”

  • Winston Churchill

Churchill didn’t believe in “American Exceptionalism?” Has anyone told the RWNJs?

If Bibi is the new Churchill, then Obama is the FDR who saved his butt.

Bibi might be like Churchill at Potsdam. Arrive as Prime Minister, leave as leader of the opposition.

Since you’re waiting anxiously, here’s what the NYT says in an editorial. They are not amused.

waving his hand like a conquering hero and being mobbed by fawning lawmakers as he made his way to the lectern

it was so obviously intended to challenge President Obama’s foreign policy.

I’m reminded of a scene from the Sopranos:

Hesh’s Daughter: The Fundamentalists are good friends of Israel. Because of the Bible.

Hesh: Just you wait.

For the new “Leader of the Free World,” Bibi’s speech isn’t going over too well:

Netanyahu’s speech to Congress: long on terror, short on substance

Guess Winnie’s native land (who would know best) doesn’t consider Bibi to be quite Churchillian.

Churchill was known to be a schicker but unlike Bibi had a sense of humor.

Nancy Astor: “If you were my husband, I’d put poison in your tea.”
Churchill: “If I were your husband, I’d drink it.”

Churchill: “Bessie, my dear, you are ugly, and what’s more, you are disgustingly ugly. But tomorrow I shall be sober and you will still be disgustingly ugly.”

That’s a great “Huckabee clutching two invisible dicks” pic. Someone should meme it.

With Hucky, it could be clutching two invisible turkey legs.

I usually fault both sides of the aisle for gross generalities, but I do have say that today this comment about the conservatives is accurate … they are all full of shit!

Wonder if the reich wingers in the Senate today are aware that Chamberlain was the Conservative of Choice among the Republican leadership during, and after, Munich.

Somehow they always seem to not remember that Roosevelt was also involved in that little period of history … in fact many would say that it was America and Roosevelt that saved Churchill’s ass.

Bill Orally witnessed the Munich Conference!

I’m sure all of these “patriots” will be taking their children and grandchildren to the nearest military recruiting office tomorrow, to sign them up and get them on the fast track for some boots-on-the-ground Netanyaahooooo!

Winston Chruchill? This is cancerous, bad for the health of our democracy, and advertised with a pack of lies. It’s actually Winston cigarettes.

Why hasn’t a prominent Democrat gone on record in the media saying the truth, that this is a speech by foreign candidate in a campaign and looking to put his country’s welfare at our expense, and sponsored by Republicans desperately trying anything within reach to destabilize the administration ?

My favorite anecdote: Churchill was staying at the White House, conferring with Roosevelt. Churchill had just gotten out of the bathtub when an idea struck him. He was busy writing at his stand up desk when Roosevelt entered the room and came upon a totally naked Churchill, pen in one hand, tumbler of Scotch in the other. Roosevelt started to apologize and back out of the room. Churchill’s reply to Roosevelt?

“The British Prime Minister has nothing to hide from his ally, the American President.”

Iran is no threat to the United States which has the country militarily surrounded; however, it’s an irritant to Israel, and Netanyahu would like the United States to attack Iran because the lives of Israeli soldiers are too precious to risk losing. These GOP politicians think sacrificing American soldiers on behalf Israel is a peachy keen idea.
