Look, Bernie voters didn’t really give a shit that Bernie was a Democratic Socialist’ , that he was a horny teenager (the porn fantasy was written when he was a teenager), that he honeymooned in Russia, that he never got his life together till in his thirties (that’s a long line), that he said nice things about Cuba, or that he co-opted his neighbor’s utilities 40 years ago.

He was authentic, honest and knew exactly what concerned the Bernie voter most. And for them, Clinton possessed none of those things. Not that they didn’t like her. They just weren’t ‘into her’ as the saying goes. His baggage, and there was some, was nothing compared to what Clinton was dragging around. And nothing compared to what Trump was creating on a daily basis during the campaign. It’s really that simple.
