but not by much.
And not enough
Congrats Bernie, you won yet another state that will NOT be voting Democratic in the fall. Nice Work!!!
A loss in IN would’ve undercut the closing argument that Bern is trying to make.
Oh, the idiots in the D party. Clinton loses in a D/R state, and Sanders wins, but Sanders has 200K less votes than Trump (454-254K, as of a few minutes ago). Clinton is a lousy candidate, and Democrats are demoralized.
What a winner HRC is!
Are there any pictures of Bernie not looking dyspeptic?
Thought this result was coming. Oh, well, it won’t be enough to make a damn bit of difference, and he’s being severely bigfooted by Trump’s clinch of the nomination. Sad.
ETA: The good news is that Trump clinching the nomination ought to fire up the Democratic base who should now realize we can’t waste our time anymore and that there are bigger fish to fry than fighting amongst each other over two candidates who are basically in 95% agreement about the issues that matter.
This was a bit of an upset was it not? The media had ignored him for the past two weeks.
Remind yourself of that as she gives her inauguration speech.
If the Clinton campaign were still canvassing that state the day of, and Hillary was still stumping there the day of, it would be an upset.
But her campaign was already heading out of state beforehand: a signal they didn’t expect to win there outright.
The more Bernie wins the worse off he is. Or so they say.
In other news, HRC is a piss poor campaigner that seems to be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Best qualified, yes, but before the endgame the gods have placed the primaries. Better pick it up.
Of course this changes nothing about the direction of the campaign as Hillary will be the nominee and maintain an overwhelming delegate lead, but I think it does say something about the issues that are weighing on voters’ minds. I spent a lot of time growing up in Indiana, and Bernie won a lot of counties that I could never imagine going for him based on his background. The fact that he is winning Marion (Indianapolis) narrowly and keeping it close in Lake (just east of Chicago) says a lot. I am not sure what the turnout was in those counties, but they are areas in which I would have expected Clinton to do very well. These two counties are basically where she lost the race - she needed to run up a lot of votes here. I was less surprised by Vigo (Terra Haute) and Allen (Fort Wayne) going for Bernie. But him winning counties like Hamilton (very wealthy, mostly Republican northern Indianapolis suburbs) and Wayne (Richmond) are surprising to me. I have relatives and know a lot of people in those places, and they are not places in which I would have expected Bernie to get any traction.
Yes now we have two voices vs. the GOP clown show
Guess some got a little lulled. He trailed in all the polls, then announced he was cutting staff and a big dropoff in fundraising. Most eyes were on the GOP race in IN for obvious reasons.
And whom the gods wish to destroy, they make mad first. To whit^
Yes, yes, yes! On to California!
Yeah, and the dog ate the homework.
Sour grapes much?!
Its so funny seeing this pissed off Bernie assholes coming here, not to crow, but to say how bad Hillary is.
Hillary did not make a single ad buy in Indiana. Bernie spent $1 million on ad buys.
Hillary hasn’t even been campaigning in Indiana…Bernie has been hitting it hard all week.
And he squeaks out a tiny victory and HE is the great campaigner?
Sorry, but winning by 5ish points against someone who isn’t campaigning isn’t a great campaigner.
