Discussion: Bernie Sanders Warms To New Role As Front-Runner

Late to the boards… Have we seen his tax returns yet?

Where is this “argle-bargle”?

Bernie bugs me. Hillary annoyed me a bit less and in very different ways.
Even though I did not always agree with BHO I really loved the guy.
I guess I was spoiled. We can`t insist on that again.

Some.

Yes, he’s a front runner. But I still think he’s too old–just like Trump is too old and showing signs of dementia.

I will read all of the pundit writings after this happens.

And the March primary.

Well he hides his taxes and then went into a close the border tirade just like Trump.

No thanks, Bernie.

Pretty sure it is Bernie’s “positive” campaign going after Biden. https://www.nationalmemo.com/sanders-behind-metoo-complaint-against-biden/?utm_source=sd&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MM04062019&fbclid=IwAR1lPzmD3s2mJho5e10xjHMUu1YFTI-N7eHwoTrDezwBJTaR-t0AR-4hVe4

So your saying a lot of 1 dollar donations were made?

Not sure how you’d quantify your perception.

Meanwhile, there are indications that the Democratic electorate has been changing:

Will this trend persist? I haven’t the foggiest idea.

It’s possible, yeah. What’s your point?

That saying the average is 20, makes it sound better than what it likely is.

True (though 500,000+ donors is still a good number). I’d much rather see a histogram than an average.

Fundamental problem with Bernie, as I see it, is that he convinces nobody who doesn’t already agree with him.

I don’t see it as a problem. Remember, he started with no name recognition and just a handful of voters. And turned it into a formidable block of believers. That’s impressive, from either side of the battlefield.

“He spent 2018 lifting up progressives all over the country,” said Rebecca Katz, a progressive Democratic consultant.

Ms. Katz sounds more like a Bernie Sanders consultant, as that statement doesn’t hold water.

Bernie spent 2018 lifting candidates outside the mainstream of their local constituencies. Not ONE “Bernie-lifted” candidate flipped a red seat blue, and many he campaigned against won their races. Why not print that?

The left’s Ron Paul. Whoopie!

I don’t know if she has worked for Sanders.

I do know that in New York she worked for Bill de Blasio and Cynthia Nixon.

To see a campaign through a Cynthia Nixon prism does not convince me of any electoral viability, though she’s certainly entitled to her opinion.

Frontrunner by what standard? In his own head? In the eyes of his supporters? Sorry TPM – you run headlines like this you lost me.

O’Rourke is a centrist/conservative stalking horse. He will profess and promise, but quickly return to his center right positions upon conning people that he is a changed politician.
