Discussion: Bernie Sanders Projected To Win Oregon Democratic Primary

If the Democratic Establishment is so corrupt, and the party rules so onerous, why did lifelong socialist / independent Sanders choose to run in the Democratic primaries, seeking the Democratic nomination? Could it be that he didn’t want to put out the extra effort to run for President without the infrastructure of one of the “corrupt” parties?

It must not have seemed so corrupt when Sanders took PAC money, even money from the DSCC, the DNC and even Clinton, to get elected to the Senate.

Not to mention the money he took from the corrupt NRA.

Its taken Josh awhile to get to that conclusion, but at least he got there.

The realization needs to sink in that there will be no “graceful ending” from Bernie. He isn’t that sort of person, and certainly not that sort of politician. Like I said elsewhere, Bernie wants a “Chicago '68” right in the middle of the convention floor in Philly.

I know that the Clinton campaign wants to wait till after the June 7th primaries before unleashing Obama and Biden, Warren, Brown and Franken…directly on Bernie. But they need to be prepared to go all out with that on June 8th.

His speech tonight, combined with his statement about NV, are nothing short of a declaration of war on the Democratic Party. So if that is what he wants, I say give it to him. Bury him. He has been coasting for this entire election cycle…after the 7th if he still wants to play this game, unleash the Kraken.

Maybe. I can see them waiting until June 14th (after the last contest, D.C., has its say). I don’t see them going after Sanders per se, only that the nomination is over and that the calls to try and overturn that at the convention is dumb, counter-productive, etc.

Edit: And here is NM benchmark.

Is grumpy and a poor sport a style?

Republicans have been wearing that look for as long as I can remember.

Freudian slip?

I see him getting cut out of the convention entirely. Having Warren and others take the lead with the progressive party, letting them choose people on the rules committee, be given prime time speaking spots at the convention.

Circumvent Bernie as the self proclaimed leader of the wing of a party he is actively disdaining. Make him irrelevant. The real progressives get more than what they could have gotten from Sanders, and his cult of personality is exposed for the frauds they are. Problem solved.

And now they are considering requesting recount in KY? They are NUTS!

Edit: Additional bonus with a plenty of nuts on the top. Among his crowds there was a guy in a Bernie shirt in the style of Che Guevara image with “Viva la revolución.”

He is toast in the 7th. And it will be good riddance.

We knew he was not going to win so him being ‘toast’ is not something we have to wait to June 7th to determine. But, he had a means to end on a graceful note, promoting his message. I didn’t realize this message was “the system was rigged & I was robbed,” but Nevada suggests otherwise. It’s a shame since his populist message is worthwhile, including to push Clinton.

Oregon Votes Left!

It’s only the Right Wing Plutocrats of the Democratic Party that are being booed.

Isn’t that Senator GMO to you and I?

Sure, to win the nomination, Sanders at this point has to rely on most of the superdelegates changing sides.

In a conventional cycle, that would indeed be a hopeless prospect. With Trump, this has not been a conventional cycle, and while it may settle down into something conventional now that Trump has won their nomination, that’s not a sure bet. This cycle, there is enough chance of big enough changes in the political situation between now and August that a candidate as close as Sanders is should stay in at this point.

FUCK YOU, PATHETIC OLD MAN. Whine some more about income equality while never mentioning how your wife exploited Burlington College for your own family benefit. And thanks to her stewardship, the college is now closing its door for good.

THIS IS THE MAN WHO WILL TAKE CHARGE OF AMERICA’S ECONOMY?

I’ll believe that as soon as he repudiates his wife’s role in the demise of Burlington College.

Until then, SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU LYING HUMP.

A lesson learned. The national party does need to clean up it’s act. The one major issue I had was when Obama replaced Dean with Keane, then passed the leadership to DWS. Say what you will, but Dean was on target about working ALL fifty states…cede nothing…fight for them all. Once that strategy was abandoned, it started to go downhill. And it has not recovered since. No viable spokespersons on important issues. No obvious leadership towards the state and local apparatus. All of this a prescription for disaster.

I don’t dispute that Clinton will win the nomination. But limping in this way will not give her any momentum for the general election. Why can’t she do better than this? She has the money and the DNC backing. Why is she such a bad campaigner? She should be running away with this.
