I like Anderson Cooper, but that was a lame response. If he expects us to believe there isn’t enough news in the ENTIRE WORLD to fill 24 hours, then he must think he’s talking only to Republicans.

I thought O’Malley did very well. I have seen him in debates with republicans one on one, and I like him and give him credit for doing a good job

I tell you what, in today’s ADD day and age, this was a substantive, intellectual, issue-laden debate. I think Martin O’Malley did a great job, and really helped his own cause tonight. I think Hildawg did well, especially at the end where she made an impassioned statement about how Republicans are only anti-big government when it suits them, but have no issue using government to tell a woman what she can do with her body, and going after planned parenthood. She came off very real there. Sanders was his typical, awesome self. Chaffee and Webb are non-starters.

Anyway, I am proud to be a Democrat tonight. I think this debate showed and reaffirmed that the next POTUS was on that stage tonight. I look for a surge from Governor Carcetti…errr…O’Malley. But I think Hildawg really showed her might, and grasp of all the issues. All i could think of was “imagine Donald Trump or Ben Carson debating her?” Great night for Democrats. Once again, we showed we are the adults in the room.

Didn’t see all of the debate, but what I did see tracked with your view that Clinton and Sanders did very well, O’Malley really helped himself and was solid, and Webb and Chafee need to pack it in already.

Absolutely! He did really well and I bet his poll numbers will go up a bit. His passion came through and he was very successful in getting his points across. I don’t think he can yet hang with Hillary or Bernie, but he’s most definitely not out of the equation, imho. Chafee and Webb, however, most definitely are!

I don’t think it odd that democrats act like adults. I would be gobsmacked if republicans did, however. Look, just earlier today on TPM there was a story about Cruz and Gomert having a total hissy fit over a bust of Margaret Sanger at the Smithsonian in DC. That’s their version of what’s important. The difference between the approaches is dramatic.

Your mom and girlfriend have excellent taste. O’Malley is fine.
I also thought as he loosened up, relaxed a bit, and found his comfort zone, he gave some really strong, thoughtful answers. I loved his stance on guns, on race relations, on policing. He’s now my second choice behind HRC.

Exactly, %1000 on point, darrtown. I can’t imagine any undecided or independent watching tonight’s debate and not seeing a stark contrast between the two sides. You hit it right on the head.

Thanks. I vote every chance I get and I do my homework. As an independent I have to. I wouldn’t vote for any of the current crop of GOP know nothings on a dare. They don’t even make decent entertainment (are ya listening Trump?). I feel much more at ease voting for and entrusting my country to a democrat. My independent stance comes from early rejection of Nixon and republicans in the 1960 election and then my anti-war feelings when LBJ was in office. For a long time I didn’t trust either party. Guess I still don’t. Not completely anyway. But i felt it my civic duty to vote so I registered as independent. Still I lean strongly left.

Webb looked like well…a republican. (Only one that fumbled the Black Lives Matter question).

And poor Chaffee. Like I saw somewhere else today…“Feel the Chafe”
