All I can say is OMG. I train teachers and sometimes, as they are developing their pedagogical skills, they use awkward questions or phrases. BUT, I have never heard anything this stupid and offensive and hurtful (even unintentionally) from the most naive 20-year old approaching his first classroom experience. And this is the man who thinks he can represent the best interests of the broad range of US citizens???
