Discussion: Belgians Find Elusive 'Man In The Hat' From Airport Video

Looks like Belgium is finally getting its act together.

The prosecutors’ office said Abrini threw away his vest in a garbage bin and sold his hat after the bombings. He had been arrested Friday in a Brussels police raid.

Sold his hat?

This guy is trying to evade an international manhunt, but he stops to haggle over the, what, two bucks he probably got for a used hat?

To be fair, it is a nice hat. And apparently it fools national security apparatuses.

It doesn´t seem terribly rational, does it? For one thing, it´s a piece of evidence; for another, whoever he sold it to is a witness.

Hey, let’s not forget Mohammed A. Salameh, one of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers, who tried to get his deposit back on the Ryder van they used.

And yet, these clowns are often referred to in the media as “masterminds.”

Of course, if President Trump or President Cruz had carpet-bombed Schaerbeek, or rounded up and tortured everyone in that neighborhood who looked vaguely non-Caucasian, none of this would have happened. Q.E.D.

Ha! I had forgotten about that.

Exactly. When you weigh those fairly obvious factors against the negligible amount of money you can get for a used hat, it’s hard to imagine this guy having much on the ball.

I don’t imagine he is getting much sleep…Much more effective than waterboarding.
