Zuckerberg set up the trial for himself by inviting them in the first place, he essentially admitted guilt where there was none. Beck’s correct, though I suspect Beck’s grifting tendencies are at play more than anything else, lots of money to be made playing nice with Facebook.

Around the time Tom Delay started ordering corporations and lobbyists to hire more Republicans if they wanted access to him, and to never send him a lobbyist who was a registered Democrat - which was right after Republicans took over the House in the 1994 elections, so circa Jan./Feb., 1995.
In other words, Glenn, Conservatives have been asking for affirmative action for themselves for at least 21 years - and you’re just now noticing it.

Maybe I’m missing something, but what the hell is the issue, exactly? Why does Facebook give these idiots any credibility? If Facebook doesn’t want to link out to shitty hack websites from their newsfeed (most of which are right-leaning) then who is to stop them? The irony in all of this is the fact that if anything conservative media a far greater offender in selective reporting than anybody else ever was. I’m a little annoyed that Facebook didn’t just tell these loons to go to hell right off the bat.

OK, maybe someone here can help me understand two weird things about this kerfuffle. Facebook is a private company, and if they want to slant the news feeds of their customers, it’s their right to do so (just like Fox News does). Are these folks objecting that Facebook may be doing what Fox news does but in the opposite direction? How does that make any sense? Are they arguing that private companies can’t do that? Or are they arguing that private companies can’t do that if they disagree with the conservative point of view? I just don’t get it.
Second, it’s well known that there are a lot of flat out false beliefs floating around the conservative blogosphere. If Facebook filters out stories reflecting false beliefs (like the sun goes around the earth, Hillary Clinton killed Vince Foster, Barack Obama destroyed the economy and increased deficits, etc) then does that reflect a bias against conservatives or a bias towards factual reporting?
I’m so confused!
