It never ceases to amaze me that the most powerful country in the world, with the best military in the world, can not secure a border without ‘building a wall’. Maybe this explains why the best military in the world is still engaged in a 17 year long war in the Middle East. Maybe they are just not that good and the leadership is just not that competent. If rebels and terrorists can keep the elite forces of the USA, led by career officers and graduates from the most prestigious military academies in the world, from a “victory” overseas … how in the hell can we be the ‘best’?
I am sorry, but if Trump is serious about stopping the flow of illegal Mexican and Central American (or wherever in the world they are from) people entering the USA, then he has the tools at his command. The US military is already paid for (tanks, guns, barbed wire, drones, spotlights, flamethrowers, satellite imagery). so why not use them to deter illegal entry? Not to massacre people, but to show them they need to follow the immigration process or NO ENTRY.
Supposedly these illegals are not good people and there are terrorists and drug smugglers among them. If a wall will make the USA safer, reduce (or eliminate) the impact of opioids and stop terrorism from entering via the vulnerable southern border… why wait until it can be constructed? Stop the flow/problems now.
