A Louisiana elected official showing integrity? He’ll be run out of the state.

The way it should be.

He knows that this would come out about five seconds after he made any decision in the case. So he’s doing it out of self preservation. But still smart enough to realize that honesty is the best policy.

you can’t know his motivation. cynicism runs deep, I know, but it’s poison.

It does indeed, unfortunately…but cynics are the new realists.

You get fewer points for doing the right thing when it’s also the advantageous thing.

To be fair, it sounds like it’s probably the right decision under the circumstances, but you can’t tell me this mofo wasn’t relieved enough to shit a rainbow when he figured out he could recuse himself.

That’s mighty white of him. I commend him for his honesty about the way power operates in LA.

He did exactly the right thing. Color me shocked.
