Discussion: Barr Reveals New Details Of Meeting With Mueller About Obstruction Case

The Attorney General is about to learn why it is a cliche that one should never piss off a Marine.

Semper Fidelis, Mr Mueller.

“Special counsel Mueller stated three times to us in that meeting in response to our questioning that he emphatically was not saying that but for the OLC opinion, he would have found obstruction,” Barr said Wednesday.

Paging Mr. Mueller! Would Mr. Mueller please pick up the white courtesy phone?

“He said that in the future, the facts of the case against a president might be such that a special counsel would recommend abandoning the OLC opinion, but this is not such a case.”

So the case is not serious enough to recommend abandoning the OLC opinion, but it can still be serious enough to indict Trump but for the OLC opinion.

With all due respect to Tena, but “have we impeached this motherfucker yet?”

When asked about McGahn testifying and referring to the assertion of Executive Privilege, Barr actually said, “We have not asserted privilege yet.”

WE?? WE??

It is clear he is not the "people’s lawyer.’

Adios MOFO.

Barr is endeavoring to split the DOJ into two parts, if he can pull it off.

This fight is actually more important than the one we are already engaged in with Trump.

I can’t follow this much today. Did they get to the part where Mueller wrote Barr a letter of disagreement (WaPo) on his 4 page summary and followed up with a phone conversation yet? Barr testified under oath that he did not talk to the SP.

Lying to Congress. Hmm. Hang him high.

Bill Barr is the John Mitchell of G. Gordon Liddys.

Not to pull an “I told you so” but I distinctly recall saying that Barr was extremely dangerous and that it would be much better to have a moron like Whitaker in that seat (not that it matters at all at this point).

I’d really like to understand why it is the Mueller elected not to follow the Watergate precedent for communicating with Congress. I really don’t understand why someone with his experience and intellect was unable to predict that this would be the outcome.

So evil Flintstone wants us to believe Mueller’s report is lying about the OLC decision? That should work pretty well.

What was the purpose of the March 5 meeting?

Barr said he was “frankly surprised” by Mueller’s decision and peppered him with questions about the reasoning behind it.

“Special counsel Mueller stated three times to us in that meeting in response to our questioning that he emphatically was not saying that but for the OLC opinion, he would have found obstruction,” Barr said Wednesday.

I suggest that AG Barr check Volume 2, page 2, including footnote 5. Indeed, it is only a very short step from that to Barr’s own redactions based on “Harm to Others.”

Barr should be given a multiple choice question …see how good he is —

A - rope ?
B - ax ?
C - firing squad ?
D - electric chair ?
E - injection ?

so much of what I’ve seen hinges around this exact tautology.
& the corollary: “If you can’t indict, you shouldn’t even investigate”

“Once we heard that the special counsel was not reaching a conclusion on obstruction, the deputy and I discussed and agreed that the department had to reach a decision. We had the responsibility to assess the evidence as set forth in the report and to make the judgment,” Barr said Wednesday.

After Ed Callahan and I finished spontaneously orgasming and high fiving each other while giggling hysterically for half an hour. Then, finally, calling Donald Trump.
