This is very interesting. I’ll believe it when I see it, but if he holds to this it takes away one of the biggest redaction “weapons” at his disposal. I think he’s still left with a lot of wiggle room, particularly with respect to the grand jury investigations (didn’t Mueller put basically everything before a grand jury?), but it’s still positive to have him on record saying this…
With Barr, I believe and do not believe.

Worth noting that “people in private life, not public office holders” still includes redacting information related to the Trump children.
Or to put it another way, all that “oversight” stuff people talk about congress being responsible for is clearly not necessary, because reasons. 
The Attorney General has identified information that would infringe on the privacy and reputation of unindicted, peripheral third parties as one of four buckets of redactions he plans to make to the highly-anticipated report. The other three are secret grand jury information, classified intelligence information, and material that could jeopardize ongoing investigations.
JFC!!! That could be the entire report!!! If congress plans further investigations, they can’t look at the evidence.

What about “senior advisors” to the president, I…e., Jarvanka, who are not “office holders”? And what about Beavis and Butthead?
Kennedy can bloviate all he wants. Congress is entitled to the full report. If he finds someone has leaked, he’s welcome to open an inquiry into it when it happens.
Regarding the timing of all of this and the tax return request, I am all for building a solid case, but the longer house committees wait, the more federal judges DT gets placed.
There are a few things here:
First, unindicted people who are not currently public office holders includes all of the players in the campaign and the early administration who have since quit or been fired.
Second, the scope of the redactions is unclear – does it mean they will be referred to as Individual-376, with the potential for figuring out who they are, or does it mean that any reference to those people will be scrubbed? i.e. if they were in a conspiracy with gates, stone and manafort, all reference to that conspiracy would have to be scrubbed because it includes unindicted people in private life.
Third, Barr has no credibility. When he releases his version, all we will have to go on (initially at least) is his word that these are the criteria he’s using.
My suspicion is that the report, while potentially “damaging” to the president, will fit into the Overton Window of his craziness just fine. That’s probably the easiest way to explain Barr’s statements. He’s decided, and the GOP has decided (since I think there’s 0% chance this hasn’t been the subject of backdoor discussions and internal reviews), that however damning the report, it can be denied, and bullied, and demogogued into just another “scandal” that helps Trump with his base and frustrates opponents without empowering them. The Mueller report will turn out to be the ultimate exercise in trigger the libs trolling.
The entire point of the special counsel is to take it out of the hands of a political appointee, which is generally not how the DOJ works, so it’s a BS statement.
He is likely going to be putting a even bigger magnify glass on these “People in Private life” (presidents sons?) by making people figure out who they are.
Trust. But verify.

“spying” is a loaded word, more like counter intelligence via the rule of law because of all the dam communications drump’s campaign kept having with foreign people.
